    This post is for suggestions for next EMU class and includes ALL current collection systems from Class 3** series upwards and including dual and multi mode types.

    For me, its Class 442 Wessex.

    Yes definitely it's one of my favourite trains. And it kind of has a unique style.

    More amazingly, underneath it is all old refurbished first generation equipment place into MkIII bodies.

    How about the unique class 504? They ran on the line from Manchester Victoria to Bury and if you have the Northern Trans Pennine route you can walk the first mile from Victoria half way up Miles Platting bank, through the tunnel and across the viaduct above Red Bank sidings. You can even see the side contact 1200v DC third rails which have been modelled. The line to Bury was about ten miles long, a commuter route with a frequent service and a depot at Bury which is now used by the East Lancashire Railway as is the station at Bolton Street.

    I have suggested this as NTP add on but looks like that will never happen now. Good call.

    Yes, I too once suggested it, when I was new to TSW and didn't realise routes were set in stone once released. And of course, the latest developments rule it out completely. What a shame. Maybe one day they might do it as a stand alone route. Only one train to make, no freight traffic and only ten miles long, sounds ideal for them. ;)
