Wow, this is impressive. A scenario editor! Brilliant! Well done DTG! Can't wait for a full editor but this is a great start.

I'm ... what??? This was wildly unexpected. This is absolutely massive news and I have to say .. I am excited. This looks incredibly promising and addressed nearly EVERY complaint that I have either had or have seen here in the community. You have my full support on this product.

Yes. Entirely new game. Read up on the website; it answers that question.

I imagine here in this post.

Wow. Grazie. This question may not too important anymore, but does this mean that development on TSW2020 has now been terminated?

I have to admit I didn't expect this. If this would have leaked yesterday, I'd say you're having a giraffe.
Two new lines, promises of longer routes and steam trains, scenario editor, roadmap, and perhaps a more transparent development.
    Looking forward to this!

P.S.: I just love this Frequently Asked Question - "Why are you preserving my Add-On collection?" :D

Dont get the livery editor but the scenary editor will be great! Hope all the "Old" Routes get an overwork but i think the direction is good again. But i can imagine it will be quite costly.

Read the FAQ,m it notes that all routes developed for TSW 2 from this point on will be unable to use in TSW2020. The opposite is NOT true- you CAN keep your TSW2020 routes.

This really does feel unreal. I'm truly in shock. Everything looks like it's ideal. They've fixed everything I hated about TSW, especially the HUD. I am, no doubt about it, going to buy this on release. I really wanted to like TSW, but it fell short. I really hope this will live up to expectations.

    Also, Bakerloo line AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Exciting. Most curious as to how TSW 2020 content will work with TSW 2. Will these routes/trains eventually be upgraded to take advantage of the new game engine?

Is a real scenario editor ? A planner seems different to me. Can we set goals ? mission titles? modify AI traffic? share the missions ? etc.

    • Bakerloo Line – First opened in 1906 Bakerloo is one of the oldest lines on the London Underground. Master the modern-day complexity of rush hour in the British capital.
    • Köln Schnellfahrstrecke – Step into the renowned DB BR 406 ICE 3M and drive passengers at speeds up to 250km/h as you race between Köln and Aachen on this German inter-city line.
    • Sand Patch Grade – Enjoy epic power with the CSX AC4400CW. Haul freight across the Allegheny Mountains, battling adhesion on one of the steepest grades in the United States.

    Taken from the Steam page.
    Bakerloo is 14,4 miles.
Köln - Aachen is 70 kilometres.
Sand Patch Grade is probably the same as in original, so 57 miles including the branch.

Wow, I didn't expect it to be a separate game. A bit unusual decision and I feel weird about it as I expected it to simply upgrade the already exsisting TSW, but we'll see how it goes. The new features look promising, especially the scenario and livery editors. I certainly didn't expect a shapes and layers based livery editor, in fact I just replied to a post talking about it and said there is no way for something like that to come to TSW. Well looks like I was wrong, lol.

The ICE and the London Underground are great news, as the ICE hopefully means a proper long route, and the underground is just lovely and adds variety.

The only thing I have a bad feeling about is the part about the preserved add-ons saying "they will be as they are now". I suppose that means they're not getting updated, so we can probably forget about route extensions and such. Will bugfix patches at least released? Some routes/trains really need it. If not then that's a real bummer.

So far a bit mixed feelings about the "separate game" and "exsisting addons not getting updated" part, but still excited and I will be looking forward how it will go.

I dont know if this is the right place to post this, gonna post it anyways :D.
Regarding TSW 2, which UE4 Version is it on? We know that TSW 1 used modded 4.16, so what about TSW 2?
And what about older DLCs, are they gonna receive the new physics? Would be a shame for the locos to be more or less wasted

Fantastic news and I'm happy that my TSW collection (every DLC) is preserved. For storage purposes I think I will abandon and uninstall TSW2020 after the migration, my internet line is fast enough and ready for August.

The ICE ... high speed, Köln (with massive freight services hopefully), long routes, adhesion, ... just wow.

Question: Will there be dynamic weather?
Question: Will there be dynamic route/signaling/fahrdienstleiter events?

Ehh, isn't 70km a bit short for an ICE route?

I know it's odd that they're doing this but I expect it to cost around $30 including new routes that we didn't get before to I think it's worth it. I know it's a shame that it isn't a free upgrade but the changes are pretty substantial and from what it looks like TSW will now feel more finished.

All collections get moved across but my original TSW is on disc. So GWE, Rapid Transit and NEC are on disc, not digital. How will these get transferred DTG Protagonist ? There may be a few of us in the same boat. I have additional DLC for NEC as well which would become useless if the disc content is not available in the new game.

I know for a fact that its notoriously difficult to get London Underground to agree to let third parties use their logos, sounds etc. So props to DTG for achieving that!

On a separate note it's a shame that you can't bring your saved data over so all that time spent on TSW2020 will effectively be gone. That's my only complaint.

    I think my questions are:

    - Why can't progress be ported across? It would be nice if our medals on scenarios etc came across. As the prospect of re-doing everything to get 100% is a little off putting.

    - Is sharing scenarios and liveries ever planned? Or will it always remain a local thing only?

    - Price, but as mentioned above you don't know.

    - Will there be a discount for existing TSW users? Assume not, but clarification either way wouldn't hurt.

    - Will existing TSW be fixed, or is this an excuse to leave them behind forever?

    - It mentions that "We are working to bring your collections online for the launch of TSW 2". Can we have communication if this slips and won't be possible? It'll be enough for me not to pre-order and leave it until it does happen.

Who was I to expect Köln - Frankfurt with 180km and top speeds of 300 km/h, ICE3 is capable of. While this is still nice, 250 km/h is only on half of the route.

This really looks like great news. It may have been a very wise decision to pick all learnings and do a step back and start over again. It takes some time, but usually it should be an improvement, because are no longer blocked by errors from the past.

Of course I am looking forward to the scenario editor most of all. Two questions for the live stream:
    1. Will it be possible to have more than one timetable? And, can we create scenarios for the timetable as well? That would be really awesome.
    2. What about the user interface. This is bit crappy in TSW, though much better than for TS2020. Can we have a preview?

Would love to get answers to these questions.

Regarding the Bakerloo, will we be seeing the full line Elephant & Castle to Harrow Wealdstone, or will services terminate at Queen's Park?
