I Think that a Automatic announcement for the destination display would make the game a bit more realistic of a option of you have a headset attached to your console/CPU you can also make custom announcements to your AI Passengers Maybe not a good feature for multi-player (If it gets added) but it could make the game a bit more realistic.

You can make custom announcements to your passengers already. You just have to speak.

Hopefully dovetail will add announcements especially for the Bakerloo Line.

No excuses not to have them.

    An updated engine
    Fully licensed by Tfl
Even Aerosoft's WOS3 had them (and how old is that now?)

I'd also like to see destination boards with ETA

World of subways 3 was released somewhere around 2009.

Virtual district line on TS1 has announcements and considering TSW2 is the "ultimate simulator" it should have them with zero excuses. Although knowing DTG they'll come up with some pathetic excuse that the fanboys will back up.

So, no announcements, no display boards but it's only £25 so I'm not complaining to much.

You will still need to make your own announcements in your own slightly electronic voice. I'm not surprised by there being no announcements to be honest, those pesky voice actors do charge a lot of money.

That was a let down I figured if they were going with a newer version of the unreal engine that this would finally be implemented into the simulation along with working railway crossings.

Although not licensed by TfL, I loved the recordings within the Northern Line route in BVE, they really made you feel like you were there

Sadly the answer to that in today's stream was a big fat NO!

It is ashame. As that could have added a lot of immersion IMO

I watched about an hour of the stream (I got a video call part way through so had to leave). Whilst I appreciated the honest answers, I was surprised how many things TSW2 won't be doing

I was too, but the honesty going forward is a big step for DTG and looking forward it.

I would like to see them add passenger announcements as part future updates for all routes.

I think RT did have these announcements because anytime throughout the game I would hear a German voice speaking (*gibberish, I don’t speak German!), only at stations, of course. I don’t know why these aren’t seen on other routes with passenger trains, I could only hear these in that specific route. Other than that I wish they do eventually add a PIS with working electronic ETA board at stations, and fully functional destination boards inside trains as well as a voice representation (besides the *speaks in mocking electronic voice of Caltrain cars “caution: the doors are about to close” thing, I would like to hear something like *again, speaks in a mocking voice “our next stop is ________, please watch your step, and use caution when exiting the train, thank you for riding ______ Railroad, have a great day”).

For announcements you would also need the copyright from whoever voiced the announcement not just the camera - is it worth the addition.

If you wanted the original, real-life ones, yes licenses do come into it, but I'm sure there is somebody at DTG who would have a voice for annoucements? Heck, I even do my own for TS, not as good as the real thing obviously but will change once I get the opportunity to record the real ones.

I wish that they would have added the announcements for GWE, as the person who tells you what to do in scenarios is the person who does the announcements for GWE. It is a shame that they did not get her to record announcements.

Yeah, but if you want announcements you dont want Matt doing it you want the real deal. Nothing against Matt, in fact I quite like his voice on the tutorials.

If they wanted to add announcements, they could probably take clips from youtube, have it edited in the game and just plop it in. I mean WOS3 is a old game and has annoumencments. TS2020 Frankfurt U-Bahn has train announcements. Also dtg does make money from all the dlcs they have so I don't think their is a proper excuse as to why we can't have in train announcements espically for a "new game" espically if they have the licenses with the railway companies

To take them from YouTube, you would still need the voiceover copyright plus the copyright from the youtuber.

I don’t think anybody would accept clips stolen from youtube and plonked in the game. That’s not how these things work. All the announcements have to be accurate and play at the exact right time to make it an authentic representation of real announcements. If it was going to be introduced into TSW2 then it would be done properly. It’s a lot of work and costly too. It may come one day.

If they commissioned their own V/O then of course they will get complaints about not using the real announcements because TS Community.

Issues I can see is how to trigger them. In TS Classic the Wakayama route uses scenario markers and scripting, so the scenario creator has to set up each journey in turn. Another option would be for the train to have a database of services, but then what happens when a new route is added, does each train need updating, especially if players end up being able to use trains on other routes.

Also can you hear the announcements in the cab?

At the very least, the Bakerloo Line should have the ‘Mind The Gap, Please’ announcement. I don’t want my passengers disappearing down the gap and getting themselves in trouble.

Announcements just don't have to be voice either, there should be screens on platform saying when next train is due, destination, stops and working display screens in each unit. Anyway, guess you'll just have to see what the future holds, roll on 5yrs and you'll probably still be asking for these features.........

And dtg isn't broke. They made so much money from all their dlcs so i feel like costs aren't an issue.

Lol, they should also do that for GWE, an unmistakable bug has been there where the passengers are walking on the tracks directly in front of ur train!

It's the classic tsw bugs that dtg won't fix
