    Moin,

Part 2 of my Cologne-Duisburg proposal if you will. This section contains the central staions and bustling downtowns of the four big cities in the Ruhrgebiet - Duisburg, Essen, Bochum, and Dortmund. Offers regional, InterCity and ICE lines. Not that there was much of a difference with one big city after the other. It also contains Hattingen. Why? Because it's gorgeous. Kinda. A bit. And it has a railway museum.

    General

    Location: Germany
    Era: Modern
Length end to end: 60 kilometers (via mainline)
    max speed: 160 km/h
    # of passenger stations: 29
Service types: Commuter, Local, Regional, InterCity, Highspeed, Cargo
    # of tracks: 2-4
    Electrified? Yes.

60km is doable for DTG I reckon. Sounds good for the next German route

Lets do this Route please TrainSim-Daniel for your German Fans.

    But RB 40 should be Essen-Hagen and S3 Oberhausen-Hattingen

I'd really love to see this route become real. Unlike any other German route published so far, it also has a huge potential for long distance trains (IC, ICE) because there are not just 2 or less stations for such trains, but 4. If this route is made, there might also be a (quite) a chance for my favourite locomotive to be made (maybe in a DLC), the DBAG class 101. Also there is big potential for freight trains.

The Cologne-Duisburg part would be even nicer for long distance. Also 4 stations, but up to 250 km/h :)

    That’s a really great idea!
It would be so nice, and maybe there could also be a chance to get some Swiss Waggons maybe, for the IC!
IC, EC and ICE‘s would be so cool!
I hope it will find it’s way to TSW soon!

BTW I've also proposed the southern part (Cologne-Duisburg) here. Frankly that would be the way more interesting route.

Yeah, but I think it is cooler to have freight and passenger Trains next to each other, so you can see more.
It‘s my opinion, but a really great idea!

Nice proposal again. Echoing other comments on how this could be a good way to get German long-distance passenger included.

If I may ask, how are you making those maps in the OP? Not the Google Earth one, the diagram one.

    That's a nice suggestion! ;)
I'm always in for routes in and around ol' Northrhine-Westfalia, since Dortmund is my place of birth. Also it has the best connections with the best trains imo.

Maybe we get to see some more with TSW2 and it's ICE coming. Anyway I'm excited for the future and hope that we are able to see some diversity in trains!

Great idea, but most of this route already exists in the Haupstreke Rhein Ruhr DLC, and Dovetail will not be editing that.

This proposal is a year old, well before Hauptsrecke Rhein Ruhr was released.

HRR is way to short in its current form, would love to see a redesign of that route to include the rest of it and give the trains more milage.

It's a joke that they couldn't add the full s3 line which would only require 6 miles in total of extra track. That's just a joke. When will DTG learn

Seems like an interesting route, I would like a Duisburg or Essen Hbf to Köln Hbf, with stations such as Düsseldorf Hbf and the airport, Leverkusen with the Bayer plant. Also you can have Köln with the Dom and the main station.

This route is in the game although it's not a full line which is a repeated joke. Line S1 is only 60 miles in total and we get only 23 miles
