I was wondering if it is still possible to get this route. I'm trying to get all the routes from RailWorks. If I can, is it worth the money?

Yes, you can buy it on Steam for $8.99. The route itself isn't great but on the Steam workshop there is a completely remastered version that is absolutely fantastic!

Here's a direct steam link to the route: https://store.steampowered.com/app/208307/Train_Simulator_Cajon_Pass_Route_AddOn/

Alternatively, while it may be hard to find, if you can find a sealed copy of Train Simulator 2012, aka Railworks 3, you can get the route that way as well.

EDIT: The original Railworks also came with Cajon Pass

Edit: Heres the Modernized version of Cajon Pass, requires Stevens Pass as well (Looks much more realistic that the default one)

It does come with that ATSF F7, so that may be the case.

Look at places liking instant gaming, g2a or gamivo.

I picked Cajon Pass up with the TS2013 US Retail bundle for £3.68 which also added Isle of Wight, GWML and the US and Euro Asset packs that a lot of workshop items seem to require.

If you buy one of the previous years, you get all the routes and locos that bundle has but the main game remains at TS 2020.

try amazon even for the old railsim add on - you'll struggle to put the workshop modernized on though as it requires Stevens Pass which is US only I think

There is a track improvement and update to authentic on 3dtrains though for free

It does seem to be a US only route for some reason. Despite this, there is a UK only version available on Amazon that I bought last night, which solves the issue. It's quite strange how it isn't available on Steam in Europe - could it be because of the BNSF content?

It appears so, Cajon Pass, Marias Pass and Stephens Pass are all available in the US but not in the UK, the last two are used in a lot of US Workshop routes too, so it's quite frustrating. It would be nice if they could be released but with generic locos in or something.

Cajon and Marias I think I bought before the ban - I did manage to get Stephens quite recently just by buying it from green man gaming or the like. That DVD pack on Amazon is prob the best value though as I think you get a UK class 08 with it (which is slightly random)

The Class 08 was included in the original Rail Simulator version which is almost ten years old now! I bought the bought seperately. If only DTG had released the Class 08 seperately as well, because buying Marketplace packs for the 08 isn't fun (and some liveries are missing as well).

Wait. There is a US only version, AND a UK only version? What about us blokes who live a few minutes from the US border? Link me this supposedly UK only thing, please.

Can't buy Cajon, Maria's or Stephen's outside of the US because of licensing reasons with BNSF.

Been trying for ages to figure a way to get them.

At this time, there isn't. I know I did get a chance to mention this to someone before, though, and I have made him aware of this thread to gauge user feedback on this. No guarantees, but we'll see.

It's the same DLC but the code only can be bought (supposedly) by UK Amazon users.

If you're in the UK there's still codes left.

I've seen some sites offering Marias Pass, but my search is coming up empty for Stephens Pass. If you can help, a DM would be appreciated.

In the good old days when the block was initaially placed you could get around it by having it gifted (from a US based friend) -- but Im told even thats now blocked ---- the weird thing is though i can still by other marketplace colours for the great northern F7 now... I sometimes wonder if DTG have a clue what they are actually marketing

Simple solution either unbrand the stock- which was RDSL policy - or simply put the assets in a pack

I'll just keep searching for older DLC's which may have contained them, but so far it's not proving easy.

No, I already looked for a 2012 key, but it seems everyone is fresh out. You can find those people trying to sell a used CD claiming that it gives you access to the routes (I'm sure it doesn't), but what you want is the code that came with the CD, and obviously that code is used.

What I mean is you will find it under "Stevens Pass", not "Stephens Pass". It's not a tomato tomahto thing. That's what it's listed as.

Which is why you have to find a completely sealed copy of it. And hope it's never been opened, and not resealed.

No worries, I got Cajon in a US version of TS 2013. Managed to find a copy of Maria's Pass today, although it was more expensive than I would have liked. Struggling to find Stevens Pass now

I found it. Do we know for sure that 2012 contains Cajon Pass? And that 2012 includes a Steam code? I can give it a try, and if the code does not work, I have an argument for a refund based on not being new and unused. From my reading, the other three routes that disappeared in 2013 would come with it.

The same warning is given on other years as well. It just installs the missing routes. Most of the featured routes (London-Brighton, Munich-Augsburg, etc.) I already own, so I am trying to figure out what it has that I don't. Per Wikipedia, I think the three workshop routes are in there with their scenarios. Other than that, not sure. But it seems I'll have to install 2012 on my laptop in order to get the necessary updates installed to Steam.

OK, got my answer. I stupidly hurriedly added Somerset/Dorset in the last sale, now I regret it because the key includes that route. Thus I would get Cajon and those other three discontinued routes, and that would give me the route for a trio of scenarios I already own. LOL

The key I bought was for the US regional version. It appears that there are multiple versions released depending on the region you live and each version is slightly different in the routes it contains. At least one of the routes is specific to each region. I'm assuming that there's more selling potential for a package in the US that has a US route than all European routes.

I started in the UK with Railworks 3 TS2012 that came with Cajon Pass amongst other stuff
    https://steamdb.info/sub/12111/apps/
But I don't run it - not in to slow moving freight trains

So what I'm reading from this: the Railworks 2012 key I'm looking at is a boxed UK version, and therefore, is not going to give me Cajon Pass. Therefore, even though it would give me the other three legacy routes that come with every 2012 install, the fact I would need another 2012 key later makes it worthless.

    I would say so, yes.

Probably not much help, but here's another pack that contained it if you are searching around:

Nope, doesn't really help, sadly. I can look up all the packs on SteamDB and I doubt any keys for that exist anywhere.

But now that I know this boxed version likely doesn't help me, I can move on from that.

I'm in the UK and I purchased the Railworks 3/Train Simulator 2012 to get in to this game
    And I have Cajon Pass
So I don't understand why you would not get Cajon Pass if you purchased TS2012?

So a final update on my 2012 attempt, as I posted a moment ago in another thread: the link to the version of TS that instead included London-Brighton turned out to be TS 2013, not RW3/TS2012. This was enough for me to do the purchase of the box today, having already arranged not to ship and have remote activation upon the code then being opened and provided. The code worked, and yes, the UK version of 2012 also does include Cajon Pass, which is now on my computer with the three fictional routes and scenarios for all four. :)

Too bad I owned the other routes already, that's about $15 down the tube. LOL

    Why?
Each year they update the core game it comes with three routes - usually an American, German and British.
And the routes are new for that year so the way to get them is to buy the new release.
But it would be pointless to include the same route in the following year as nobody would buy them

Each year is a different bundle and the bundled routes are usually the newest or ones DTG want featured, so generally they do change annually
