Glad to see Class 47 fix but what about the Miles Platting game crash as still happens? Will this get fixed now? Matt P mentioned that s fix was imminent.
I hope so. I don't know what's causing it to crash so often. It just crashed on me less than 10 minutes ago. Luckily I saved my progress beforehand.
Hi everyone, I've tried it too. The crashes at Miles Platting are still happening and there are certain scenarios I cannot load at all. I filed a bug report through the official and communicated channels but I didn't even get a reply. As the trans pennine route is one of my favourites I really hope this enormous failure / bug will still be adressed and fixed, even with TSW2 coming. Please! Best greetings
When it first happened I filed a report too and was told to restart my xbox it was only when I joined the forums that I saw it was a common issue.
Yup the crash just outside Manchester still happens...yay! Luckly the save game function works and you can finish it off. Lets up Train Sim 2 doesn't have these problems! I am just grateful that you can now get the 47 to Manchester without needing a sleeping bag and rations packed before heading off!
Do you have the original (oldest) XBox? Also - have you seen this thread (which suggests that maybe some maintenance/clean-up of the XBox could help....):.....? https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/ntp-class-47.23407/
How do you save/resume progress? I don’t think I’ve seen where to do this. I’m playing TSW 2020 on PS4.
Then they need to re-optimise Miles Platting for XBox, so that it works for everyone that NTP is marketed to.
Maybe DTG will send the bulldozers to the Miles Platting area for you console guys and flatten the area so there's no buildings, minimal amount of track, knock down the station etc. Once you've passed that area, you can continue....
Actually it's a problem on a PC based Microsoft XBox system - no issues at all on PS4 Pro. It's actually also quite shaky on a powerful PC. No problem on PS4 though.
Can't say I've had any problems on my PC on max settings around that area but of course it can vary from PC to PC
So i just ran through Miles Platting last night on Xbox 1 X, (CL47x1 loaded oil service) and while it didn't crash, there was defintely some judder and slow down. Hadn't done an NTP run in quite a while- is this a newer issue? I don't remember it being so bad before.
It is an "old" issue - mostly impacts the older XBox, but can get quite hairy with a fairly powerful PC. Fine on PS4 Pro. As time goes on, there will potentially be more and more people affected, especially as XBox HDDs and caches fill up.... DTG should do some tweaks to give the XBox a tiny little bit more margin on performance... especially since they advertise on Microsoft Store that the game has been optimised especially for XBox, when the reverse is the case.
In about 2 years and dozen of services along the Northern Trans-Pennine (plus the addon Freight Over Pennine) I've never had a single game crash. Im on Xbox One X and here all run smooth (Miles Platting station/area included).
Yeah - it's looking like it is a problem that is limited to the original XBox and the XBox One S..... but after a spring clean some of those machines start working okay.
That's the reason why, after GWE Founder Edition, I passed from Xbox standard to Xbox One X. I uploaded a dozen of videos (full trip), also of Northern Trans-Pennine (full add-ons) route on Youtube. Just if you're looking to see how it work on X version.
It certainly chugs around Miles Platting for me on my OG XBox One now, but it used to be 50/50 over whether it would totally crash. When I raised a ticket they told me to uninstall the Heavy Freight Pack, which I don't own. I also hope it's fixed properly for TSW2, I don't think I'll be in a rush to pick it up anyway, just in case there are some "kinks" that need working out of it.
Please explain what this means, train crash or system crash,so just what happens,i don't understand what time table or seniro this is?detail please?
You pull out of Miles Platting on any time table service it judders and makes a painful noise and dies. Its absolutely fine if you save it at the station and then start again once resetting...
