Hi all, I am extremely pleased with the east coastway addon, my favourite by far. I hope more mordern routes in the UK are on the horizon. However, I have noticed that the 8-12 stop markers on some of the station platforms may be incorrect? For example, at Lewes, the 8-12 marker means that 1.5 carriages on an 8 car train don't meet the rear platform. Even though there is ample platform in front.
I think the stop markers are in the position they would be in real life. The ones at Lewes are there so the train stops before the signal so the driver can see it even though it means a couple of coaches are off the platform. IIRC, all other stations have the stop markers for trains too long at the very end of the platform so as many coaches as possible are on the platform. In real life the class 377 would have selective door opening so only the platformed doors would open but the game does not have this feature. If you don't want to open the rear doors on short platforms, you can press the open door button next to the all doors button which only opens the doors on the front unit and means that no doors which aren't on the platform open.
I have recently been down the east coastway IRL and they are replicated correct. There located there because of sighting issues for drivers, I believe thats the same reason for the 10mph speed limit.
Thank you both for your replies, greatly appreciated. It would be a great feature that TSW would only open doors that are on the platform. I believe even microsoft train simulator had this feature back in the day.
Hi aceridgey, You can select only the front car set to open, try your door open (red) buttons on the left of the panel, one opens the whole train, the other opens the first four carriages.
