So while its unlikely for Dovetail themselves to do this, I think a good DLC made by a 3rd Party Dev would be Santa Fe's U-Boats that were ordered in the late 60's to replace the aging F-Unit Fleet, The U28CG and the U30CG.

The U28CG was built in 1966 with a total of 10 units produced (350-359) These units retained the Road Switcher body and were painted in the Warbonnet Scheme with large Billboard type lettering (Which would later be reused for the Superfleet in the late 80's to early 90's) Power output was 2,800hp from GE's FDL16 engine.

The U30CG was built in 1967, unlike the U28CG, these were built with Cowl Body's (Due to Santa Fe's desire to not have Freight looking locos on their passenger trains) These were painted in the Warbonnet Scheme similar to the F-Units. A total of 6 were produced numbered 400-405. Power output was 3000hp.

Unfortunately, a derailment with a U30CG ended the passenger service for these locomotives as the design was suspected the cause of the derailment. The were eventually added to the freight pool, re geared, renumbered, repainted as well as had their steam generators removed and water/fuel tanks converted to fuel only. The were traded back in to GE in 1980 for B36-7's.

If this were to get made, there would be 3 potential routes for these locomotives. They could also come in the freight variants as well (Though they spent most of their time in Colorado or on Secondary Assignments)

-Raton Pass (Hauling the Grand Canyon Limited/Train 23/24 or Super Chief)
-Cajon Pass (GCL or Super Chief)
    -Pacific Surfliner (San Diegan)

VRC did a model of the U28CG quite a while ago. The site's been gone for some time, but Jerry recently put it back up and will hopefully bring the old stuff back for sale. Here's a video of what it was like:

Makes sense that VRC did make a U28CG, especially since they made that Chessie U30C that's on Steam.

Nice proposal. I like Santa Fe diesels, and these old GEs look cool. If these get made, the pack should include both locos in both ATSF Warbonnet and freight liveries, plus a passenger consist and a few freight cars and an ATSF caboose.
