In this next Q&A session we'll be answering questions on the ICE Köln - Aachen route. We'll also be talking about longer routes and providing more detail on the Scenario Planner. If you have questions you'd like answering on these topics please ask them below. We don't guarantee to answer every question, but we'll get through as many as we can.
- Will the route feature LZB? - What RE lines will the Talent 2 run? - What services will the ICE 3 M run? - Will future DLC come to the route? - Does the Talent 2 have new sounds ( traction motors) - How many services has the route? - Will we have the option to adjust the drivers seat? - How was the process of making this route? Did you have a good acess? Why this route?
Will the 442 run S-bahn routes (I think there should be 3: S12, S13, S19)? Also, what's the main difference between the 1442 in RT and the 442?
Are there any plans to release long mainline routes in sections, each section being a DLC, which then all join together if you buy each section as they are released. For example a full ECML route but released over many DLC (maybe not this ambitious, just an example) which form the whole route over time. Each section could also be used in isolation for those that buy just one section.
I’ve got a few but I’ve narrowed down my questions to a minimum: • Will LZB be present in Köln - Aachen? • Will freight be featured in this route? • Will the Talent 2 have consist variants? (Like 4 car and 3 car) And about the scenario planner: • Will it just be going from Point A to B? • Can we set our own paths into terminus stations? • How many custom scenarios can we have saved?
Will we see double header 406s and will we see more coupling and uncoupling procedures in TSW2 in general
1: Will there really be no substitution? In the trailer, you can see a 422 passenger compartment. 2 :Are there depot services (Aachen Hbf/Köln Hansaring ICE Depot)? 3. How is the Talent 2 different from the one in RT? 4. How do the destination boards work on the ICE? 5: How realistic is the timetable?
Questions about the trailer: - In 0:18 of the trailer you saw the interior of the DB BR 422/423/425, is this a surprise or a error? Questions about the route/scenery: - In the SGP Q&A, you said the trees were updated. Are the trees here also updated? - Is the route just a line with some stations or there are also some depots etc. Questions about the ICE 3M: - Does the ICE 3M have also the NS (Dutch Railways) livery. (Basically the ICE with NS logo on it.) - Are we able to open the coupler hatch? Questions about the DB BR 442: - Are there some changes or is it just basically the Talent 2 from RT but in DB livery with destination boards?
For me: - Will LZB feature? - What improvements has the BR 442 recieved? - What is the timetable mode like? How many services? Any freight (guessing not). - The interior at 00:18 is definitely not a 442. Is this a mistake, or are we getting a 422 as well? - Will S-Bahn feature?
Will we be able to drive trains from TSW 2020 on the new route and use them in the scenario planner like for example the BR 422, freight trains with the BR 185 or the BR 146 with dostos? If not, will this be possible later on? Will we have a working LZB for the ICE? What services are there? Are there RE 1 and RE 9 services? S-Bahn with the Talent or a vehicle from TSW 2020 (i.e the 422)? Freight services? How often will the ICEs run? Will there be depot services? From where to where exactly does the route run? Are Köln Messe Deutz and the Hohenzollernbrücke implemented? Are there already future loco dlcs for the route planned and if yes, which? Will we see the BR 423 for S-Bahn services? Will there be destination boards set in the scenario planner or can we set them manually? How will AI services in the scenario planner work? Do we set a departure time for the first station and an arrival time for the last? Can we set arrival and departure times for intermediate stops? How will the dispatcher decide which tracks to use for scenarios from the scenario planner? I hope we don't have to drive an ICE on the S-Bahn tracks. Will coupling of the ICEs be possible and will there be a double header formation for the scenario planner? Are there double headers in scenario mode? What was changed from the Talent 2 from Rapid Transit? Are there sound improvements and improvements in braking? Will we be able to create S-Bahn scenarios in the planner with the Talent 2? are the S-Bahn stations and tracks usable?
1) In terms of longer routes, what does DTG have up its sleeve? Any hints what me might see in the future? What routes would DTG like to build? 2) Will these routes be included in your promised road (route) map so we know what you are working on? 3) What do you define as a longer route? How many miles/kilometres are we talking? 4) Will you consider the ICE 4? 5) Will draw distances etc be better using the new game engine? How will this be impacted by longer routes? 6) How many stations will the ICE 3 call at?
Will AFB be mapped to a PS4/Xbox controller button or button combo e.g. hold X whilst using R1/R2 to increase/decrease AFB, release X to increase/decrease acceleration? Off topic: Will two tone horn be mapped to PS4/Xbox controller?
Will LZB be functional? What year is the route set in? The ICE 3M cab is not accurate for present-day ICE 3Ms. What does the service mode timetable look like, how many services are included for the 442 and the ICE3? What's up with the lighting of the trains? It looks like the ICE itself is emitting light.
Will it be possible to merge two DLC lines into one? Means: In TSW we have e.g. the route "Hagen - Finnetrop" and the route "Wuppertal - Hagen". Would it be possible to merge different routes with the same station, for example in this case create the route "Wuppertal - Finnetrop"? This would be very practical, because then you don't have to change the route all the time.
will we be able to run freight trains with the 185 or 182, as koln - aachen is quite a busy freight corridor in real life. will we also be able to run the RE1 services with the 146+dosto’s? And will we be able to use the ICE3m on hagen - wuppertal or bochum - duisburg?
Will the wheels be the right way around, they are reserved now. Will AI have passenger lights on by default?
In the trailer I noticed the inside of a db 422 does this mean we will see them running on this route
I also want to know if LZB is functional on this route. Also: did the 442 get some new sounds? The 1442 sounds on RT were very bad EDIT: I believe I read somewhere that when using Safety Systems, you will be told what you did wrong. Do I remember this correctly? If yes, how exactly does this work?
How detailed are the editing tools going to be? As you release more tools are we eventualy going to get full editor-like functionality?
In the trailer, if you have a keen eye there are clearly some dostos, will they appear on this route? Have you made changes to make them compatible
Whats stopping you guys from releaseing the unreal editing package? Is it a licencing issue? A code security issue? Or do you guys think it's too complicated for the comunity to be able to use?
What is the length of the route? How many scenarios / How many services? Will the “a day in the life” feature that was announced for SPG be implemented in this route too? What is the max speed on this route? Are the upgraded weights of cars implemented across all TSW2 routes or just SPG? Will future German loco DLCs be able to be played on this route and to be used as AI traffic? Has the view distance increased on consoles? At high speed how is the track loading in/ view distance on consoles compared to TSW2020? Will it be easier for console users to view the timetable/ task log in scenario mode? Currently you can’t scroll through the timetable on console without a mouse.
Will the 423 coming after release as DLC for the S12, S13 and S19? With the 422 and 425, the „Ground model“ for a 423 is created, or not? And in real, there is a S19 train, running to Aachen instead Düren, once per day (Check e.g. DB Navigator). Is this service included? Thank you!
Will "neutral sections" of the overhead lines be simulated? On the real ICE the privacy glass between the drivers cab and passenger cabin goes opaque when it loses voltage/goes through a neutral section, or is toggled by the driver.
Can the any of the improvements to this Tallent II be applied to the one that comes with the Leipzig S bahn line when it gets ported over (such as the working destination boards), or potentially a re-skinned version of this one replace the old one?
I have a few questions: PZB and LZB are very complex systems that caused many bugs in previous versions of TS and TSW. Are there any improvements in TSW2 that you think will reduce the number of problems?. The german signal system, PZB and LZB are somewhat complex systems to use by the general public. Are there any plans to add documentation, or even better, in-game help to aid new players in learning how to drive the trains following the rules? To me, this is an important point because driving a train without any rules gets boring fast. If you know how to follow the rules and do it, it is a challenging and fun experience.
A few longer routes questions: Why have there not been any long routes in TSW? Are consoles limiting the size of the routes? What is the longest possible route TSW2 could currently handle? Will the release of the new consoles later this year have any change on route length? How do you decide on what routes you make? How long does it take to choose a route, and how long does it take to make? How big is the “wish-list” of routes DTG have? Edit: Spelling
That is one of the trains on the route. Please Don't Take This the wrong way but Have You Been Looking at the screenshots in the Dovetail Live Articles?
To answer a couple of your questions up front (because they've already been covered): They're not reversed. The issues include, but aren't limited to: - Licensing - Code security - Multi-platform support - Add-on dependency limitations Given the number and complexity of the issues faced we've opted to tackle creation from a different angle, making it as democratic as possible, so that everyone can get involved if they choose to. No, it's not as fully featured as a full editor, but that's the choice we've made.
Its been said before but consider it a vote for: LZB Is LZB functional? If the system is not featured will trains be restricted to there correct non LZB speed limits, considering trains are not permitted to travel over 160Km/h without running under LZB it would be assumed this is functional item in the simulation otherwise there is no real high speed running.
