I swear to god a good majority of the users on this forum examine every video and screenshot with a magnifying glass stuck up to their monitors.

What rolling stock will we get with Köln - Aachen, alongside the 406 and 442? Not being familiar with the route I'm curious about how much high speed we will get to drive, how fast and how far before we get to slap on the anchors? Will we get those tutorial videos I heard rumour of to teach us the signalling and train protection systems and alike? Looking forward to this one.

I have a question, I sometimes let the AI drive in TSW, so that I can record videos without the HUD on.
In some of the German trains there's no second seat in the cab, so I figured that I just stand in the cab behind the driver and record that way.

This would work but unfortunately there's a bug in TSW that wont let me do that.
Once the train starts moving, it will be alright for a few minutes, but then somehow I get stuck and find myself on the roof unable to move.

So my question is, has that been fixed?

EDIT: Link to a short clip to show what i mean exactly

Is it the same sound for the ICE as in TS2020 or has the sound been completely redone?

In the 1st Q/A Matt mentioned the team having great fun with the ICE 3 in livery editor. Could we see an example?

To be honest that's the same with most games, it's not just unique to TSW.

That's what basically everyone does to every trailer everywhere - games or movies. Trailer breakdowns created whole channels on YT. Compared to movie trailers looking closer here is probably not going to spoil you... the story element of TSW2. :D And now we know there are at least two other train types on the route, although that was not supposed to be a thing. I'd say that's a win.

    • Will we see trains of the Kölner Stadtbahn / tram on the streets around stations like Köln-Weiden West?
    • Will we be able to choose the platforms on which the train should stop in the scenario planner?

Note - I now have more than enough questions for tomorrow's stream. Thank you to those who contributed. Some of them will be combined to cover detail in slightly less granular detail than you've asked, not to be evasive, but to try and give the most information that will be of interest to the widest audience.

If anything important (and on topic) is missed please ping me after the Q&A.

I have only 30% of my hard drive remaining. Can someone tell how much disc space will TSW2 take up and how much more will it use up when all the old TSW Routes are when installed into the new game. I have plenty on my Xbox but about 200gb on my PC!! Thank you.

Steam has an option to select active DLCs to be downloaded and installed. I would guess TSW1 DLCs in TSW2 will take the same amount of space, so you can either have them all only in TSW1 and uncheck them in TSW2 or vice versa, which might be better as they're supposed to run somewhat smoother on the new game engine. If you don't mind downloading like a madman, you can check/uncheck DLCs based on what you're using at the time.

I still hope we will be able to turn off the Bloom in-game, some of the screens with the ICE in good weather look horrendous as everything (especially the ICE3) is far too bright and bloomy. Like this one: upload_2020-7-15_19-27-26.png

    Just 1 Question!

    Will DTG add route extensions?

Like: Köln - Aachen - Liège Guillemins (railway station in Belgium, one of most iconic railway stations build by Santiago Calatrava (Famous architect))

I think would be nice to extend certain routes, also some older routes from TSW 2020.
maybe a Great Western Express rework/expansion with the modern electrification and new high speed trains

I wish that folks who make guesses such as this or seemingly definite statements would explain their reasoning or sources. Otherwise, such posts belong in one of the sheer speculation threads. Enough with these SWAGs, people!

This question applies to all routes, but will there be operating rear view mirrors, and if not, would it be possible to add that feature?

It was said by Sam in Monday's stream, however, he said that it is not definite.

Not directly related to the route, but features in it and in the majority of TSW's newer routes, but can you explain why the developers have gone for the inferior choice of lighting? By inferior, I mean the style which makes colours look washed out, scenes look over exposed, as well as there being excessive bloom.

It can clearly seen shown in here in this picture below. Just look at how washed out the white is and how much bloom is producing off it compared to the rest of the scene.

Almost as its been photoshopped in from another scene.

The TSW2 lighting looks so much better than TSW 2020 to me.

It’s the bloom that is mostly the issue. Looks at the whites, at how much it ‘shines’ compared to any other colour.

Unless the HUD is the first DLC for TSW2....look on the bright side, you get to learn to drive the proper way :)

ok, let me ask some new questions for upcoming stream.
    Regarding the high speed routes.
    1. In your FAQ mentioned that «this year you are going to focus on the HST" Does it mean that we will get another high speed routes (French TGV, ECML, WCML, another german, italian routes etc). Can you uncover your future plans?

    Regarding the "longer routes"
    1. What maximum length can we expect in future DLCs?
    2. Are you going to merge, for example, RSN and RRO from TSW 2020 with consequent remastering and availability in TSW 2?
    3. Are you going to release route extensions for old routes in TSW 2020 for TSW 2 and for new routes in TSW 2?
    4. Are you going to release really huge routes (for example, NEC, ECML, WCML etc) by releasing pack of separate DLCs?

    Regarding the scenarios editor
1.Will the rolling stock from TSW 2020 be available in TSW 2 scenario editor? If not, do you provide this feature in future update?
    2. Can we use diesel traction at electrified routes and vice versa?

Thank you in advance for your replies!

Well, that is a question you better answer yourself by looking on Google Maps, because the number of tracks varies trougout the whole length and I can't imagine, that DTG will take/have the time to tell you, when and where are how many tracks... :D

Could we ever see routes that include mainline services but also branchline services? As an example, you have the mainline between Koln and Aachen, but then you can also operate services on the branchline bringing you down to Heimbach.

Will any Preserved Collection German Trains be available on The ICE line?

I own the Physical Copy of the Original TSW will The NEC New York and Rapid Transit be on my preserved Collection?

Can you drive S-Bahn Services on Cologne - Aachen if you have Hauptstrecke Rhein Ruhr or Rhein Ruhr Osten ?

Can you drive on Rapid Transit in TSW 2 ?

I doubt it given that these routes/trains aren’t going to be properly integrated into TSW 2 - at least not yet.

I can answer your second question regarding the scenario editor.
You can use diesel trains on electrified routes, although probably not the Bakerloo line tunnels, however, you cannot use electric trains on non-electrified routes as there is no power. You will also not be able to drive the 1972 stock on the Schnellfahrstrecke and vice versa because the Bakerloo line is electrified via a third and fourth rail, whereas the Schnellfahrstrecke is electrified with overhead wires.

You are able to drive routes that you already own in TSW2020 on TSW2, although you will need to re-download them and your progress will not be saved.

In the last stream, they showed the option to ignore electrification in the scenario planner, so you can use electric trains on non-electric routes (for example ICE on Sandpatch Grade).

Well, this is what I'm interested to get some comments to this evening. They said it's not possible due to the lack of compatibility, but the last trailer showed us TSW1 stock on TSW2 route, so we'll see.

    For the Q+A:
    1. Will there be on-train destination screens
    2. Will there be double ICE trains
