I will buy TSW2, most likely on release day, but perhaps later. It's a decent price tag for 2 new routes, but I know there'll be sales so if I wait I'll have the routes even cheaper.

So it kinda depend on how nice all those updates on TSW2 are. They've mentioned updates to the interface, which I'm very curious to see, as I'm not entirely happy with TSW2020 HUD. And they've also mentioned there might be a slight improvement in performance thanks the the UE update. If those two things are good enough improvement over TSW2020, I'll probably get it as soon as I can. If those two things aren't really convincing, I'll probably wait for a sale.

Day after the announcement of the release delay and the Köln-Aachen Q&A stream.

    316 votes cast (+29)
    46.5% - Yes (+1.9%)
    35.1% - Possibly (-1.5%)
    18.4% - No (-0.4%)

Thought it might be interesting to bump this poll. We can already see for the first time that the number of people voting yes has risen and the no vote has dropped.

Or perhaps a new thread and poll would be better

    Go for it.

My thoughts were to use this one to see if or how opinions may change over a period of time.

Speaking for myself, I definetely go for a buy at release after yesterdays stream now. I wasn't into day 1 buys after the disastrous launch of project cars 2 back then but TSW2 seems worth it for me! :)And I'm looking forward to the next xbox sale where hopefully some of my missing DLC will be included...

I've not been that radical, but I saw enough yesterday to convert me from a firm no to possibly.

Not wanting to take the thread off topic but intrigued to know about that, what happened? I bought it well after initial release, when I bought my VR headset, but with PJ3 soon to be released (same day as TSW2 I think) - I'm hoping they have learnt lessons from whatever went wrong with PJ2 release.

The game turned out to be completely unplayable with the vast majority of cars when using a controller instead of a steering wheel and it was clearly a bug because some cars worked fine... and it was likely to happen at the end of a race. This despite all advertising that the game would be optimised for controller use, not as PC1 (which was hard, but doable).
And over nearly a year none of the bugfixes seem to have worked... you see there are some parallels here but no bug or disappointment in TSW ever became even close to the level of frustration PC2 was able to cause for me. :D

So maybe not so off topic as it looked like - I'm very pleased that TSW(2) differs in that case quite clearly :)

What stream? Got a link? I never watch the streams... I never know when they are. Are they on Twitch, or YouTube? What happened to make you change your mind?

While the original announcement was kind of a fail, the recent news are pretty good.

And why resort to attacking physical characteristics of company employees??? If you do not like the product fine, point out and discuss those failings, but do not show your lack of decorum and throw out personal attacks, they do nothing for your arguments or the betterment of a product.

If you really look from the very first route Sandpatch, released in beta to the public in December 2016 to the more recent release of the Class 20 in June 2020. The content for TSW undoubtedly increased in quality as DTG learned from each project and used that experience for future routes and locomotives. TSW2 to me is going to be a new chapter that utilizes all of the knowledge built from 4 years of developing TSW content. A strong foundation for DTG to build upon plays an important role to our experience, and the TSW foundation was not very sturdy and I can understand why it was so hard to add bug fixes and changes over time to an older route when the techniques used now are much more efficient. I imagine it like a famous author going back to his first book, I’m certain he couldn’t understand some of the choices he made when writing it. From all the information on TSW2, it seems to address these issues that plagued not only the game but the community as well in TSW. I highly suggest watching the Köln Q&A stream, as DTG are listening to the community and answering important questions such as what we can expect for post launch updates such as bug fixes and acknowledging where they have gone wrong with TSW and giving us in my opinion 100% genuine answers. I have enjoyed TSW very much and I am very much looking forward to paying $30 for TSW2 and being able to enjoy more content as it grows.

OK.. watched the stream. So I can create scenarios now. Does that include stuff from my "preserved" collection though?

All it now needs is 3rd party support, and we may be there.

    Meanwhile... I'll be in TS2020.

I would have quite happily changed my vote from no to yes following the last stream But now there seems to be the suggestion in other threads, that not all DLC will come across from TSW. Until I know which ones and why, it's once again put me off a day 1 purchase.

There seems to be some really mixed messages coming out of DTG at the moment regarding this preserved collection business!

I think I might delay until I'm 100% done with TSW2020 (or finally got tired of it and ready to move on.)

I found this video on youtube comparing TSW with TSW2 in a Peninsula Corridor gameplay at the same time. I confirm my NOT purchase of TSW2, are they completely different games or is this the update that TSW should have? Seeing this personally I opted for the second option ... www.youtube.com/watch?v=zazmTEXoBDA
