The GE BQ23-7 was a special variant of the popular B23-7 locomotive made for the SCL from EMD trade-ins. The locomotive had an enlarged cab to hold a full train crew in the locomotive, allowing the caboose to be removed from freight trains. Unlike most GE's of the time, the BQ23-7's rode on Blomberg B trucks due to the locomotives being built off of EMD trade-ins. Only 10 were built, all for the SCL (#5130-#5139), later Seaboard System. They were later inherited by CSX, where some of them were converted into B-units by plating over the cab windows. I think that this would be a good loco addon because of how unique the BQ23-7 was during its time period, and how its design predates the current widecab only market by many years. The loco could also come with scenarios for either Miami - West Palm Beach or the new Clinchfield Railroad, as the Clinchfield Railroad was part of the Seaboard System. The addon would only need one paint scheme: Seaboard Coast Line:
The BQ23 was a bit of an oddball, being hated by crews, but I think it'd be a great addition to TS! It would also be neat if it included CSX Stealth and YN2, as well as the default Family Lines colors! (CSX units were numbered 3000 - 3009)
Yeah, it would be a good idea to have the standard B23-7 included as well. Also, thanks for finding a picture of the cab interior!
Yeah, they could be a separate reskin pack, but I would personally have all three liveries in one pack.
Yeah, I think that having it in the game would give some very unique experiences since this is a pretty unknown locomotive.
maybe the locomotive could come with some with some SCL rolling stock? SCL Woodchip Hopper: SCL Boxcar:
