I would like to suggest this commuter line for TS2018. It's a fairly self contained line, formed from the remnants of the Manchester section of the Woodhead Line. It's run by Northern using Class 323s, although Class 319s are likely to appear in the future.

It serves 13 stations, the final two - Glossop and Hadfield - are on seperate branch lines, meaning that trains switch directions in order to serve both stations.

The 13 stations on the line are as follows:

    Manchester Piccadilly
    Ashburys
    Gorton
    Guide Bridge
    Flowery Field
    Newton for Hyde
    Godley
    Hattersley
    Broadbottom
    Dinting
    Glossop
    Hadfield.

A visualisation of the Line can be seen below courtesy of Wikipedia:

The Class 323s have served the line since 1997, originally in GMPTE livery, followed by First North Western, and then finally Northern Rail.

May I propose an extension to this. With the recent Virgin deal with Dovetail and the already existing Class 175 and 390, it could mean there is a slightly larger potential to this idea. A diesel line extension to Rose Hill Marple/Marple can also be done by utilising the Class 150/1, giving the player something different and slower-paced than the electric traction. As well as the passenger workings, there is also a frequent freight service along the Crewe line, usually operated by DB or Freightliner Class 66s, to Trafford Park FLT and Euro Terminal respectively.

I propose having the following added to the already suggested Hadfield/Glossop line:

    - Manchester Piccadilly to Crewe via both the line via Stockport and the Styal Loop Line (Manchester Airport), this adds two lines into the mix. It also allows for the Class 66, 175, 323 and 390 to be used.

    - Cheadle Hulme to Stoke-on-Trent, this adds another lengthy but plausible extension and also allows for the Class 390 to be used, as well as the Class 323.

    - Stockport to Buxton, this follows both the Crewe and Stoke services until just after Stockport before it branches off and carries onto Hazel Grove and then onwards to Buxton, this sees a daily use by Class 150/1s but sometimes a Class 323 makes it's way onto the line as far as Hazel Grove, this meaning that it is also perfect for the Class 150/1.

    - Manchester Piccadilly to Manchester United Football Ground and Trafford Park, on matchdays at Old Trafford, Northern provides a handful of shuttle services between these two stations before and after the match, this is operated by Class 323s. The extension into Trafford Park utilises the freight services from the Crewe line as mentioned earlier.

    - Ashburys to Romiley via Reddish North (and onwards to Rose Hill Marple or Marple), this is one of two routes the Rose Hill Marple/Marple service takes through South Manchester. This service is regularly a Class 150/1.

    - Hyde Junction to Romiley via Hyde Central (and onwards to Rose Hill Marple or Marple), this is the other route that the Rose Hill Marple/Marple service takes through South Manchester. This service is regularly a Class 150/1.

    - The already mentioned Hadfield/Glossop route.

In conclusion, a network style of map can be created utilising a handful of different trains, this allows an action packed route for the players of Train Simulator 2018 as it allows for a variety of services to be operated. It also allows for another route to be based in the North.

You do realise the Manchester - Glossop - Hadfield route exists in TS2020?

Ok, it is set in the 1970's with the Class 76 and 506 emus but when the voltage was changed in 1984 not much was done with the track layout.
It would give you a start as the track buildings signals etc are already in place - you just have to modernize it.

And real events have taken over - the 319s will not be used on the route as they are too long for some platforms and too slow.
The 323s are staying in Manchester and will be joined by their West Midlands sisters

Let's remember that not everyone has the same faculties.
And that some cannot spell English correctly. ;)
