Great article ! If the Talent 2 from TSW2 will be slightly updated like the enginesound, will you do that to the one from RT ?
It is a great article! I really like that DTG have put together for us a new article every other it day it seems. Those are some fantastic looking screen shots and I can’t wait to drive all of them and I am especially excited to drive the 1972 mach 2 and the AC4400CW for the first time. To answer your question about the Talent 2 on RT, they aren’t going to be updating any of the TSW content and are focusing on TSW2 and future content.
Yeah I see it’s like the two different class 66 on TSW1 they didn’t updated the original one from GWR
Have you noticed most modern trains we have on TSWs, are from 2010?. So 10 years old... Even just few of them. The rest are older. Don't get me wrong, I likes almost every train available! But I hope something brand new, be available on TSW 2 next DLCs.... Would be good something from UK, as new trains are arriving there. What do you think about it?
Also the clouds in this screenshot look way better than the ones in the ICE screenshot. What is the story here ? It's almost like the clouds in the ICE screenshot were taken from TSW2020
What do you mean ? Dynamic skies is (supposedly) one of TSW2's main features.....but clearly we are not seeing that in the ICE screenshot
...but I am not even seeing an improved sky box in that ICE screenshot I posted, it is TSW2020 levels of bad
There is an extra layer of cloud behind the small clouds. That’s the new sky. TSW2020 sky just had one layer of cloud. As with TSW2020 the TSW2 sky is going to look good with some weather settings and not so good with others.
I wish Dovetail would stop referring to multiple units as "locos". The only locomotives on offer here are the ones on the Sand Patch Grade.
Fair enough ... I just can't help feeling a little disappointed. I was expecting better looking skies across the board iresspective of weather settings
That has always bugged me too. I suppose the word ‘Train’ would have been too much trouble to use after settling on the word ‘Loco’ for the first DLC, which probably was a locomotive. Had they chose ‘Train’ to start with, some uppity enthusiasts would have piped up with ‘It’s not a train, it’s a locomotive’ at the time. As it is the uppity enthusiast typing this shakes his head and tuts whenever he sees an EMU described as a loco. I like the way the PS4 store describes them all as a ‘Vehicle’.
I would say at least 50%of the tsw2 locomotives are not new to the pc players and only 4 are new for the consle players. The talent 2 442 and the sd 40-2 are sortof new depending who you ask.
Very nice introduction and pictures. I have a question about the loco's physics though . is the ''amps drop to zero '' bug of the SD40-2 at around 28miles per hour going to be fixed on the new tsw2?
That is yet isn't a bug. The motors do a transition there. It's supposed to happen at 25 mph and occur faster, but does happen.
...I see what you mean- looks like the sun shining on the cab is just washing out some of the blue, that’s all. But the loco detail shown in this pic is just incredible- wonder if this a 4K UHD shot done on a killer pc. Wow.
...I found the following pic of another sister SD40-2 (number 8484 vs. 8482 in the pic above) in a youtube video. Looks like both of these are the silver color variant... what parts on the pic above don’t look right vs. the one below?
Definitely the sun that makes the locomotive grey but it’s blue except the front headlights and the front barriers
...here’s a pic of the #8482 loco in real life (unknown year). Looks pretty identical to the game pic as far as I can tell- factoring in what the sun is doing to the blue color in the game pic- even the stanchions in front are painted the right color. The headlight has been moved to the nose and CSX logo has been moved to accommodate that in the game pic, and that work could’ve been done on the real loco sometime after the pic below was shot.
