Here's another poll to see if all switchers/shunters are created equal or not. Now i know a few of these options are boarderline on being switchers/shunters but i needed to fill this poll with a fair amount of choices,And really almost any engine can help with yard duty so i'm not over reaching to far adding a few iffy options. If i'm remembering correctly many german electric locomotives do have a shunting option. Hence me adding the db br 143 to the options list.also it seems like it's abit smaller then it's fellow electric locomotIves, making it alittle bit more flexible when concerneing shuntering duty. Note:The Db in the uk options was added by mistake.ignore the Db,all those are uk options.
The UK Class locomotives wouldn’t have DB. They would just be BR (British Rail) Class ??? etc. DB is just for Deutsche Bahn in Germany I believe.
Sorry for some reason i have db br reference stuck in my head, whenever i think of uk/german trains.hopefull that won't totally ruin the poll.
Yes,i'm now aware of that fact if you read my statement you know that.if i could i would correct the options.
DB Cargo operates in the UK, but it is owned by Deutsche Bahn. Deutsche Bahn also owns and operates the Arriva brand in the UK, which includes Buses and Trains.
The Class 08 is my favourite. The meaty torque curve makes it a brilliant shunter and a mean cutter/switcher. The class 09 loses a lot of what makes it good with the longer gearing, but it's a case of horses for courses. The DB 208 is the best modelled and the most interesting drive. It was a close run between this and the CL08. Finally, the MP15DC is just an all-round good engine. Excellent visibility, and easy to use.
