Anyone else noticed that there has been a lack of Dovetail Live Articles posted on TS2020 content the past few weeks? Kind of odd, especially with today's announcement of a new route from Rivet Games, yet there is still isn't an article posted here on the forums (Usually there's an article for up and coming routes). Other releases that also never got an article.
Yes I yo have noticed a lack of announcements not being posted to the forums as well. In fact I would like to thank you for sharing the post of the Norfolk Southern Loco pack. I guess they expect everyone to get a twitter and/or Facebook account as well, which I would never have anytime to play I would be spending to much of my free play time having to read things scattered all over the place.
Except this was happening before the lockdowns were in place, as well as we had that one article for the Clinchfield route last week.
This also happened on the NS loco pack as well, it was you who let us know they just assume everyone has a Twitter or Facebook acct.
I have found information on new releases by Email from DTG and other providers like Just Trains and Virtual Railroads If you don't sign up then you don't find out Peter
Now we have the mystery of the non-posted articles. Let's remember that the office is probably shut and they are working remotely. So therefore, they may not have ready access to DTG Live. Once in a while they'll get something there that they feel is big (Battle for Sherman Hill, anyone?), but they can easily log into the Twitter account and post. I don't really hop on Twitter (or especially Facebook) much anymore, myself, so just refresh the DLC page periodically to see new releases.
The issue here is not because they're working remotely as this has been going on before the pandemic hit, it has been hit and miss of new coming soon articles not being posted here in the forums. Not everyone has a twitter and/or facebook account we rely on articles being posted here.
Wait. Not everyone has a Twitter or Facebook? I was led to believe everyone had one... But remember that changes in office operation do cause holes. This is one of the holes. It will likely be tended to sooner or later.
That looks pretty cool. I've been watching loads of Japanese loco YouTube videos and they have some seriously impressive looking trains.
Somebody was reporting the PZB was not working as it should - I don't have the loco and I don't use PZB
I hope that it is cheaper than $68.27 NZ when converted from $44.99 US as Just Trains display in US $ for me then have to be converted to New Zealand $. I don't buy much from Just Trains anymore due to the currency rate conversion.
Yeah why is the Just Trains stuff so expensive? Some of their products on Steam seem to be ripping you off a little unless the pricing is due to a conversion error. I think their S7 is the only TS loco/MU addon on the entirety of Steam that costs over $30. I know it's very detailed but $30 is really steep.
Wonder if the JT Class 60 will return... Especially now that there does not seem to be a Class 60 "in progress" by Bossman Games anymore...
Return? Did they take it off sale? I've heard their 60 is pretty good but I would prefer Bossman's 60 if it ever comes out.
I didn't even know it was there! If it was released recently I probably just ignored it since the constant re-releases of JT's products are getting boring lol.
el IIRC it was the first JustTrains Product to be sold on Steam, together With Bristol - Exeter. It was taken off Steam around the RW3 release, when a lot of stuff was "retired"
AP have a class 60 advanced pro sound pack if I remember correctly; I suspect if Bossman have canned theirs and JT have removed their model, perhaps AP have a class 60 enhancement pack coming very soon. Scratch that, read the thread and caught up. JT still have theirs on sale. Interesting that Bossman stopped their development though. I'd still wager that we're going to see a 60 AP EP at some point in the near future.
As I said above: I never claimed JT stopped selling it, they didn't, they even made an Advanced Version of it a couple of years ago. It WAS however removed from Steam - of course the Version there was the very original "non Advanced" Version
AP already do a Pro Sound pack for the Class 60 Advanced - I don't think they would do an EP version.
They did it with the 375/377, 50 and 86 of the top of my head. No reason why the 60 would be any different.
One reason might be the people who made it - Just Trains - would they be happy with AP making money off one of their products? They have done Sound Packs for JT Products but so far no EP versions
If it's an EP, then the 60 advanced would still be required, thus not robbing JT of anything at all. If anything, having an AP EP available for a loco you've built is only going to push sales for the base model even further. What a lovely accolade to have AP enhance an old model that your firm is unwilling to invest further time and effort in. It's a win-win-win. For the original developer, for AP and for the customer. There's plenty of space left within TS to keep a small army of developers creating content. Imagination tends to be the limit. You need certain types of people involved in making things of this nature, and they are like rocking horse droppings (perhaps the top 0.01% and then with a creative flair combined with a can-do attitude).
And I'd still wager that we're NOT going to see a 60 AP EP at some point in the near future. We are both entitle to our opinions and time will tell if a 60 AP EP is made
Price i see right now in USD is $39.99 for the route, $32.99 for the S7+1, bundled together is $55.46. https://store.steampowered.com/bundle/15780/Metropolitan_Line__London_Underground_S7__1_EMU/
I managed to pick this route up for £29.99 including the S7+1 in a JT website sale. Think that works out at about $40 USD.
Currently on Steam the bundle is £39.99 which is the same price as Just Trains https://www.justtrains.net/product/...s7-plus-one-advanced-underground-stock-bundle Their website is useful with more information about what you get in the bundle plus 3 video tutorials The route is not very forgiving where you need to be at the correct speed or below waiting for the Signal to clear
So if I purchased the Metro line from JT which displays for me in US$ and after conversion to NZ$ it comes to $68.76 NZ the same route from Steam which displays in NZ$ no conversion needed is $49.99 NZ.
