Having watched the Bakerloo line last night, I'm struggling to get my heard around why they haven't simulated speed changes as per the underground in real life.

For those that don't know, speed changes should take place when the front of the trains passes the sign however in TSW2 the speed change takes affect after the full train passed the sign.

I can understand not wanting to make huge core game changes, however I believe it could have easily been made to work:

The speed signs become assets with no affect on the game. Purely for visuals only.

Hidden speed changes a train length prior to these signs. This could be in form of a tiny (practically invisible asset).

It's a shame that a game that tries to be a simulator misses out fairly basic things that even TS has.

Yes. Such a simple solution that many people, including myself, have immediately come up with but it isn’t a perfect solution.

Two types of speed limit signs would be needed. Instances where the speed limit reduces are exactly the same as they are now, and instances where the speed limit increases use the secret hidden speed limit change one train length before the speed board to apply the speed limit change at the front of the train. One downside of this approach is that the HUD would count down to the hidden speed limit which may confuse the player. I’m sure the DTG folk would have considered this approach and decided against it for that reason or others.

I agree it's not a perfect solution, but it's definitely better than what we have now. It's a shame that it's the first London Underground route (and possibly only one for quite some time) and we're missing a number of features that exist on the underground

yeah one thing i hope for kind of is that they don't do Elizabeth line as from watching crossrails videos of the signalling it would be pretty hard to implement into the game as it goes through 3 different versions of signalling and seems very complex from watching it it's understandable why the line was delayed

If Crossrail ever gets added it'll probably be a the western or eastern sections I'd say.
