I think this is a problem for DTG caused by one of their updates Have a look at this thread https://forums.uktrainsim.com/viewtopic.php?f=361&t=129182&hilit=Light+Pacific+Boiler If you are having difficulties with the Forum Appearance go in to User Control Panel > Board Preferences and change the board style to subsilver2 Peter
Cheers, thanks for that info.. I took the easy way out and added the sound files to MDI's Light Pacifics, the graphics not as good but they sound OK...
Is this the original DT one or the SSS one (or are they the same)? I have just bought the SSS working days one and not tried it yet.
Think mine must be SSS, I got it in 2011 and forgot, then I went to TSW .. but now back with TS2020. It only came to light again when I got Southampton - Weymouth v2 route..
I am just making a scenario for the V4 route so I will test it tonight and see if it does it. I think the working days pack on SSS is quite a recent release, I assume it is an overhaul of the original DT model. If I get the same effect I will contact SSS and see what they say. I am too enjoying TS more than ever now. I still like to fire up TSW though, there are some very good parts like the NTP and TVL routes.
I found if I rename RailWorks\Assets\DT\DT_bulleid_light_pacific_loco\default\CabView, ... to CabViewold and create new empty Cabview, I loose all the locos but not the Southern one which is showing as it should.. Will carry on experimenting . '
Ok getting there, as above create new cabview folder in default... go to the "Southern" folder and copy the CabView folder into the default folder... Now we got no boiler backpiece in the cab but what we do get is, see piccy (working on back piece now..). .
I tried the SSS acquired unrebuilt Pacific working days pack last night and I didn't have any issues. I think this pack only dates back a couple of years so maybe whatever problem was occurring was fixed in those versions?
Yes mine being 9 years old may have been one of the first with the issues. Anyway I ok using them as they are. So much stuff required to run the Southampton to Weymouth from different providers, but it's a good route, V3 is due out soon too, I have been finishing Weymouth off as it's not complete, but as I worked there in the 1970/80's I have good memory of what should be there.
jetgriff, Southampton-Weymouth is one of my favourite routes. Any chance of getting an extension to Weymouth Quay please?
The route is on Steam Sounds Supreme and was built by Trevor Wood. I don't know if Jetgriff would be able to amend that route and I doubt if he would not be able to publish it.
. I think SSS is developing V3 which is said to finish the Weymouth portion. I finished creating routes a few years back.
I have v4 from SSS which I downloaded in 2017 that doesn't include the Weymouth quay line. I didn't realise they were still working on it. It would be great to see the line to Salisbury added to it.
Therefore I shall write to Trevor Wood forthwith in askance that he completes the route to the Weymouth Quay.
Bossman Games are doing a Light Pacific. Sorry if you don't use FB. https://www.facebook.com/pg/BossmanGamesUK/posts/
Well look at that, I never even heard of them.. been away too long at TSW . Got a lot of catching up to do.
Confusing, I got V2 from UKTS, never knew aout SSS free download.. just getting it now, will compare... I really need to do more catching up on TS
It's a great route, lots of variety. It's not an area I know that well so have been doing quite a lot of research into it.
I love their products, got the Royal Scot, Stanier Mogul and Merchant Navy on my list to get. I have to say the DT/SSS is very good, even if some of the cab textures are a little out of date, it is shame they didn't look at doing something not yet available.
I used to be Passenger Guard on the Weymouth Waterloo trains when we lived in Weymouth, those were the Class 33 and 4TC days..
. Sure thing, propel the 4 TC to B'mouth couple up to the 4TC and 4REP, uncouple 33 do a brake test on train, then off to Waterloo, and my word could those 4REP units motor! 100MPH in no time you got pushed back in your seat like taking off in a jet plane. Do reverse on return and pull train to Weymouth. While on the 33s, we did the "top secret" Winfrith run to collect the Nuclear Flasks and take them to Poole join onto the Eastleigh freight. Nuclear Flask at Dorchester. .. On the Clay at Furzebrook.
While on Weymouth Quay Tramway, here is a picture of me (right) and Micheal Penny piloting the Boat Train along the tramway. c1978ish .
I've been researching the Weymouth Quay branch/tramway with the thought of adding it to the SSS Southampton-Weymouth route. Trains meeting ferries or ocean liners appeals to me as many times I traveled between London and the Isle of Wight via the Portsmouth-Ryde ferry.
I have put the sea in on Weymouth seafront and will extend the lines down Commercial Road to the quay should be easy, I walked it many times in front of trains, I know every inch of it... will post pictures as I go..
Look forward to it. Could it be added to the SSS Southampton-Weymouth route? And do you still have the mutton chops?
It is the SSS Weymouth Southampton Route that I have added the Tramway too. Plus the mutton chops went 25 years ago.. along with the top stuff too..
