Just looked on their twitter and some people are guessing that it could be a German U Bahn or S-Bahn route. I feel that it could be an U bahn route due to the 3rd rail but it could be a completely different country.

I saw someone on twitter say an extension to East Coastway and im inclined to agree because it looks British but also because East Coastway is part of the Deluxe Version of TSW 2

Could another german desiel be in the future?Rivets games has proven they can do them and fix any issuse quickly, even if dtg delays uploading the fix.But the 3rd rail could still mean something different either way rivet games being involved means something good is on the way.

It’s definitely for TSW/TSW 2 given the hashtags on Instagram, so an extension to East Coastway could be plausible as that’ll be on both.

ECW extension is possible. That route is getting lots of attention. The trees look like good old British trees to me. Hmmmm?

Could it be a London underground extension in one of the overground areas?

It looks nice though, wherever it is...

Would this be the first TSW add on from a company other than DTG?

If so, that is fantastic news! I’m quite new to Train Sim and hope Rivet make high end add ons

I guess the question is, when is it ‘coming’? TSW 2 launch day or later?

How would this work? Does Rivet use the same assets etc for the scenery as DTG would? Or do they build everything from scratch? Being a TSW exclusive player, I’ve no experience of Rivet Games (I don’t yet own the DB BR 204).

I don't own any German dlc apart from Rapid Transit that came with TSW back in 2018

I only have the UK dlc but TSW2 may change that for me, I will have to look at the sales.

According to discord, this pic is taken just along from chestfield @ swalecliffe, with a rumoured route between ramsgate and favesham, of course thats just speculation

if its like eastcoast way this could be the branch line of the route and instead the main route is the chatham mainline so maybe 375s 465s or 466s

this is just a guess from using Wikipedia but i think we have a firm decision at least on the whereabouts of the route

Could be a period 70s or 80s Chatham with slam door stock. After all do we not already have a 33 and 09?

Going by the foliage hanging over the top of the bridge, I would say this is a German route as it looks the same as a couple of other German routes.

Well I am an old fart who grew up with br blue so sue me. :D
Seriously there seems very little in the way of interesting rolling stock today, with the possible exception of class 68s. Thereagain I'm sure people who experienced the 1950s said the same in the 1970s lol.

the only thing that would make me think it wasn't a german route is it's not electrified and i was under the impression most german routes are. and with the foilage hanging over the top of the bridge i have found a bridge like that with steps next to them which i have previously shown screenshots of

I’m going to say this is the Island Line on Isle of Wight. RIVET would start with a short route and the picture matches exactly with a bridge on that route.

7.50 in this video for the bridge.

Oh wow! Nice find. And it has the steps down on the left hand side. I think this might be it. Although the Isle or Wight is quite niche and not of much interest to me so I hope it isn’t. :)

Yes, it does look very much like that Bridge which carries Smallbrook Lane over the railway.
The Island Line would be great to see with the ex London Underground 1938 stock class 483 which is the oldest stock in mainline use in Britain.

Meh whish the video was clearer but obviously its filmed in the UK as the weather is bad. I still feel the other place looks fairly similar and you don't have the foliage on top of the bridge but I guess we have to wait and see this week is going to be interesting and my wallet is not looking forward to it.

Now that could be a very good guess!

Obviously far from being one and the same, but the 1972 stock being a good base for the 1938 stock (award they are completely different) but a good design to go off at least.

stujoy, how did you find this, do you live on the IOW?

At Smallbrook, you can cross to the other side of the station to join the Havenstreet Steam Railway. Now wouldn't that be a nice introduction to steam trains driving one of their tank engines to Wooton. Maybe that is the surprise?

Drive the underground (overground) class 483 train from Ryde Pier to Shanklin and then the steam train from Smallbrook to Wooton.

I am also hoping I’m right because I think the route would be great fun in the old trains.

No, I’d looked into the route recently as I’d love to see it made, and when someone else spotted that it was a third rail route in the picture I just went and checked it on Google maps hoping it would be, saw a likely candidate for the bridge and then looked for a cab ride video. I was pleasantly surprised.

Disagree. The TSW2 version of East Coastway is preserved collection only, not an official TSW2 DLC so it will be missing things like the new skies, and possibly variable adhesion physics. Would be kind of pointless to create an extension to a preserved collection route unless it gets updated to TSW2 standards, so this is likely something brand new. We will know for sure once Rivet does their stream.

The Island Line is an 8.5 mile third rail electrified railway which is mostly single track with passing loops and a section of double track. There are 8 stations on the line, including Ryde Pier Head which is completely built on a pier over the sea.
The sole rolling stock that operates on the line is the old 1938 London Underground stock (class 483) which is now over 80 years old.

To add to my earlier and Northerner's post, the Havenstreet Steam Railway which is accessible from the mainline Smallbrook Junction or Havenstreet itself, runs for 5.5 miles with a variety of steam trains including the Southern 0-6-0 Class A1X Terrier shown below. The quaint station at Havenstreet (see pic) looks like time has stood still for the last 100 years.

I was given a footplate experience on the steam train as a leaving present from work but haven't had chance to use it yet with the Covid-19.
    Cant wait :)
