Hi everyone. Just hoping sam gets to see this, as weve done two polls on here before with over 85% of voters wanting keyboard commands to open/close doors instead of the big pop-up menu. I remember Sam questioning matt about this, and it got said that they 'wanted' to put this into the game but havnt.......and that was that? Just wondered if you could clarify anything on this sam as ive not seen it on the roadmap, it is highly requested and would make the game much more enjoyable and less 'arcadey' style. Will this be implemented in future? yes/no, dont know or any ETA etc. Thanks again
If it's not on the roadmap, speculate about it. I also remember Matt and Sam talking about it, but Sam has repeatedly pushed the idea of the solidity and clarity of the roadmap. I really hope this feature makes it in soon.
It’s not on the roadmap and neither is making the distance to objective (and other) text bigger and/or clearer in the upper part if the HUD. I’d say the lack of keyboard immersion controls and the unreadable text are the biggest issues to look at ASAP. Hoping to see those on the roadmap soon. Certainly some things for DTG to look at sooner rather than later.
As has been mentioned, they're currently focusing on getting preserved collection done. I think once this is out the way, the "living" roadmap might start moving a bit. But I think DTG know and want this feature too
Yesterday a new team in DTG was announced to do this kind of stuff. We have been doing with this issue three years now, so half a year longer is still tolerable for me. I would like something similar for the Save feature. This is cumbersome to put it mildly. May they can collect some of these stupid things and combine them.
That's a good way to think about what the team will aim to do. One part fixing major (and minor) issues, one part finding straightforward improvements to the game. They're currently finishing up work on Preserved Collection (everyone is working on Preserved Collection right now) and they're still a couple of people short of a full team, but they'll get up to speed soon enough.
So just to answer my original post mate, is there anything you do or dont know about this feature being added to PC users? Just as i recall, it looked as if you both agreed and want this to happen but nothing was said about actually doing it? Im no dev for sure but surely implementing a keyboard key to open/close doors cant be that hard? i could be wrong though.......just wondered is it one of those things for 'future' or not even thought about in the backroom etc. thanks sam
Until it's on the roadmap it's not in the schedule. That we want to do it is 100% confirmed. When we'll get to it is not.
thanks sam, wasnt sure if something so 'small' in detail would appear on the roadmap, but thanks for clearing that up, roll on tomorrow!
What is the best way to give information about a bug ? Can we use the forum through the dlc name and list all the bugs we found or do we have to write a ticket ? Where is the sub forum for TSW2 btw ?
Check out Technical Reports section of the forum to report on bugs and errors found. I’m assuming that the TWS2 forums will be incorporated in this current forum. We’ll have to see later on.
IMHO if you really want something done then always submit a ticket. Posting stuff on a forum may or may not be noted but a ticket will always get noted. In the past I know that the number of tickets on any particular subject helped set priority and I suspect it's still a factor.
I just played East Coastway on TSW2 using the Steam controller, a pop-up at the start of the scenario said 'Classic' controller set up has to be employed on East Coastway such that 'Immersive' controller option (which has door controls on the left pad) cannot be used. Can DTG comfirm that this will apply to all legacy routes on TSW2 and does this also imply that Direct Input will not be applicable to legacy routes either?
You are forced to use the "Classic" controller for preserved collection scenarios because the game scripts for those scenarios are written expecting you to use that set up. You can still use the "Immersive" controller set up for preserved collection timetable services.
