Hi everyone, I just wanted to take a second to thank all of the TSW community members that have been putting in great effort the past few months to make this community and forums a much more positive place then it used to. I have seen forum members actively trying to help other members and I’ve seen conversations that have been civil even when people disagree. DTG have been doing a good job on their end to make this a better community and I think we all have done a good job on our side of things as well. Hope everyone enjoys the launch of TSW2 and I can’t wait to discuss it with you all. Have a great day! Matt.
I can't say anything about the old forum, but I like how it's managed now. Regarding TSW 2, I admit that a lot has been done, but still many points were discovered by the players after the release, as you can see from the number of today's posts. This is not necessarily a recommendation ... I'm just glad I decided not to buy it on the first day. :-D
Well I’m glad you decided to join us, as with any game released on launch day in the industry, there will always be issues as no amount of testing could prepare for a world wide launch. This happens to even the biggest studios and games such as Call of duty for example. It seems like DTG have been prepping for this launch and will communicate with us over any issues people run into. I would say the majority of people will have a pleasant first experience and I’m sorry to the people who run into any bugs. Although if you do run into bugs you can help the community and DTG by reporting the issue so it can be fixed!
We're tracking absolutely every problem that is reported. Some end up being unique to a couple of people, others are more widespread. This is inevitable with a game launch that difficulties are found, the majority of the ones we're seeing at present are store-based weirdness and accounts not correctly recognising who owns what. These will be resolved. Anything more serious, problems with the game itself, we'll also deal with in the order that gets the most people playing as quickly as possible. The good news is that as of right now the majority of players are able to get into the game and drive. This is a good place to start.
Update: As the game launched it’s great to see forum members are helping each other with issues. Glad to be apart of this community!
I'm new here and to the game. I picked up TSW 2020 for my autistic son who loves trains last month, and then I got addicted to it. When he's in bed, I play. I appreciate the positivity in the forums as well being a new member here, and glad to join the community. Great job guys.
This is a great community, yes, and I also acknowledge that issues are being addressed by DTG. But even if we don't look at the problems with the stores and purchasing the game, there are dozens of other bugs - in new features - in graphics - in general gameplay - in preserved content and new routes, and most of them could (and should) have been discovered during a thorough quality check. We all see that this has not happened, and that's what really worries me. So, with all due respect, the overall impression is not really brilliant.
This is a thread more based on what the community has done. That being said, no amount of testing will prepare a game for launch day, as that would take a huge Q&A team and a lot of hours to come close to the amount of people that play it today. Although the game may have some bugs, I would say the majority of people are enjoying TSW2. What matters is how DTG address any major bugs and communicate with the community. Which they seem to be doing on the forums and with the effort they have made to the community as a whole. It would help if you encountered any of these bugs to report them in the technical forum as that will go a long way with helping them fix it.
Just in case you don't remember what I posted before: I won't buy the game now, because of the amount of bugs. But I'm willing to help. I simply don't think it's helpful to praise DTG for its work without pointing out the obvious shortcomings.
I’m sorry, I didn’t think that once sentence made the rest relevant to this thread. You are saying that the community has to help because of the amount of bugs? The technical forums seem like the right place to get answers.
My original post is for what DTG has been doing with community over the last few months and the lead up to release, it wasn’t referring to the quality of the game. DTG have been active on the forums today trying to answer and help as many people as possible, I’d say they are attempting to do a better job. I personally haven’t had any bugs occur and have been enjoying my time.
