What shapes did you use to create the long green/red stripes? I can’t seem to find what I need, I’m also trying to create a new DB livery.
Yeh the yellow is very difficult to get right. It seems to show alot darker and more yellow in the livery editor than In the game. I think the yellow on the UP sd40 looks pretty good so I'm going to change the AC4400 to that
Yeah, when I was making the GP38 in CSX Gray livery, what looked like the perfect grays and blues, actually turned out a lot brighter in game, so much so the gray was nearly white!
I used the capital letter I from the text menu, and again just enlarged it to form a thick Or thin line / stripe
I modified this one to reflect some more realism since we can't paint the undercarriage. (The one coupled to the back is in progress) I also finished a Conrail "Ballast Express" locomotive. Sorry about the "Quality" (see what I did there?), I don't know if that is because motion blur is turned on or I need to increase the screenshot quality. I say it's the former, but I'll have to mess with some settings.
I haven’t had the chance to hop into the livery editor, I do have a reference photo from a local railroad that I plan to try first! I will update with how it came out when I complete it!
Some more locos done. Illinois Central SD40-2 w/ Operation Lifesaver Decal. A trio of Kodachrome schemes for the GP38-2, in Santa Fe, Southern Pacific, and Shouldnt Paint So Fast Lettering. Left the run numbers off these locos. Burlington Northern GP38-2 Whiteface, also did a BNSF patch version. San Joaquin Valley Railroad (The Local shortline here) in its G&W colors. Due to the amount of layers to make the logos alone, the 0 Injuries logo and the Operation Lifesaver logos only appear on this side of the loco (298/300 layers)
Blacknred81, I'm am stunned at how quick you churn out liveries!!! I've only got 2 done and you've got nearly 10, if not more!
That would make it a little accurate, but I’ve seen some UP locos in that shade of yellow as the original color got faded due to weathering, so it might look a little weathered out like that.
Those logos! *faints* They’re just so good, well done! That BNSF logo is awesome, and the TTX is so realistic, especially in the pink version of the well car!
But how on earth did u get those very small letters done? Or is there a zoom feature in the livery designer?
That BN One is really good!!!! Nice work. Now they need to come up with uploading these so people can download them and use them.
Here’s a few tank cars I did. Full 300 layers. Trinity (TILX) in White with black and brown, and Procor (PROX) in green and black. The Procor logo was surprisingly fun to do! Also fantastic work everyone so many amazing paint jobs. I’ve also added a lucky timetable with both of my CNs with unique numbers, haven’t been able to duplicate that combo again.
I usually start with the text in a larger size, before re scaling the texts smaller and placing them where I want them. I think the key is to match common shapes in logos with what ever brushes are available and skew and resize till you get close enough to the real thing. I also think my years of experience with Eutechnyx's NASCAR paint booths had a hand it as well.
Everyone great job with all these liveries, all of them look great! Can’t wait to join everyone once I get the game!
I've made a totally unrealistic and probably crazy custom GWR livery for the 1972 stock. Let's just pretend that TFL is celebrating the anniversary of Paddington Station or something like that. I just wish there were more font options so I could make the logos look more accurate.
I would love an option in the livery editor to add dirt, don't get me wrong I love seeing the trains all sparkly and new, but out on the rails I think a dirt filter would make them look a bit more lived in. Anyway, I also did my best to get the Network SouthEast livery onto the Talent 2.
