So I took a shot at liveries myself, tried something easier to start with. It was definitely an interesting experience, some tools are really cool (projection is extremely good for railings, although it would be nice to use it also to paint only the more distant surface).
CP-1-small.png I didn't put road numbers on these, because the game still automatically generates the ones on the number plates and it would be probably even weirder for them to clash.
    CP-4.png
Creating the CP font without the font was also really interesting - for example, C is made out of five shapes, D are three Ds inside each other. Luckily CP has a lot of repetitive letters, so you can copy and paste groups.
    CP-3.png
A big gripe I have is with the gradients... in the editor itself they look completely fine, but when put on rails, you can see the stripes as it compressed. I wanted to give the loco a bit of a dirty look on the hood and lower half and it just turned into this colour stairs.
    CP-5.png
Otherwise, a pleasant surprise, how much can be made with such limited tools (even when looking at other creations here).

Very nice! I was planning to attempt a Procor tank car today. I hope mine turn out just as good!

The Conrail gray scheme is the Ballast Express. I might be wrong, but I thik they were originally painted that way to haul MOW trains, but nearly all the pictures I found show them hauling all sorts of trains.

I really hope in the future we'll be allowed to save layers to use on other locomotives because that Conrail logo was hard to do!

Yeah, I found the same thing when creating my CSX livery, all the letters in the logo are at least three put together to get the thickness correct. Lucky for me when I went to do my Conrail livery, except for the c and q, the default font matched perfectly.

I'm trying to do a TfW repaint myself, nowhere near your quality yet. The real question is, how are you going to do the Welsh dragon? ;)

I’m so amazed at the level of accuracy of this livery! That CP font is a mere exact replica of the real one, and that exhaust weathering, how did you do that? Great job! Now you have to find a way to create the beaver logo.:D

Yes! It bleeds horribly, I did them using arrows and diamond shapes so that might have something to do with it but it does look something dreadful

Mark28189 I must admit the first one I tried to make was a TPE Nova 2 style (I did live in Leeds for a while) but that was a tad complicated to start with. Honestly as a Welsh person I cannot draw a Welsh dragon to save my life, so I wouldn't worry too much haha!

Tip for you, if you use the normal square and manipulate it to the size/width, then prell LB or the pc equivalent then press the Lt/Rt or pc equivalent of rotate but it’s not that, it will lean the squares while keeping the top level ;)

I do not know why I didn't think of that...I guess they're getting remade lol. Still bleeds though I guess?

yes very much so, I did think it was just mine, so it’s a bit of a relief to know I’m not alone with the colour bleed.

Thank you very much for the compliment :D

The weathering on top (if only the compression hadn't messed it up...) was done by taking the gradient square, making it black, widening it and putting two of them with the darkest sides towards each other (connecting at the very top of the hood middle section), I then used the end of the hood towards the cab (where the hump of the dynamic brake starts) and the end of the radiator as a somewhat natural point to end it without looking weird. The weathering on the frame was made basically the same way with a giant gradient rectangle put so that the darkest tone was virtually "under the wheel level."

I might attempt a beaver at some point, but I am not sure I have enough layers left to do that. :D

For all its niggles, when it works right TSW2 really is a stunning contribution to the world of train simulations. I never would have dreamed even a month or two ago I could create something like this without having a degree in graphic design, let alone take it for a spin at 250kph.

A trio of Southern Pacific AC44's, clean, sunfaded, and patched. No numbers on the patched version.

Took some time to update my CN AC4400CW with some more detailed paint and some grime like the prototype. Unfortunately the gradient looks completely different in game
    :(

Had the same problem with the CP AC4400CW I posted earlier. Makes weathering really not worth it when the gradient gets compressed.

Ah so it’s a compression artifact, that sucks. The top weathering looks great on yours though just like the real thing.

I made my self a couple Procor tank cars, one new, one faded (I might try to weather this one), unnumbered as it would look strange if all the cars were the same number.
    TSW2_Adam_1598193399_00.png TSW2_Adam_1598193448_00.png

I also attempted to weather my Conrail SD40-2, but the layers don't play nice with the dynamic brake blisters.

Wow, wow, wow... I am totally shocked and surprised by how *good* so many of these livery edits are! I never- and I mean never- expected to see so many fantastic edits like this using a first-gen livery editing tool. Just a great job, guys... thanks so much for taking the time to create these and sharing them. Big thumbs-up, to all of the artists among us!

It's a bit funky looking but given the tools this may well be the best I can do for now for a Welsh dragon. Sadly even at this level I can't have it on both sides due to the number of layers involved

If you slide the angle and projection sliders all the way to the right, it mirrors each layer you do it to. This way, you don't have to use as many layers.

I’ll see what I can do tomorrow, I cannot group the layers together because if I were to copy them I would be over the limit and right now you can’t seem to even group them together as it works on the assumption that you’re going to copy the group (I presume) so I would have to select each individual part and project...which would take a while.

Ok, this one took way more time than it should have. Euro-5.png
I tried to do a sort of a "freelance" livery of the early Eurostar Velaro design and I have to say ICE cab cars are one hell to paint properly. The shape is just crazy.
    Euro-2.png
The logo was a pretty crazy experience. It is far from perfect, but once again... considering the tools available... I'd say it looks fine.
    Euro-3.png
There could probably be more details on the frame, but imagining having to reply it six times I went with a bit simpler approach. Might redo one day when sharing's a thing.
    Euro-4.png
(Ignore the driver, he's enjoying the ride a bit too much I'd say)

Yes, as far as I know, you would have to ungroup all the layers, but it only takes about 10-15 seconds to do that for each layer.
