In all the guide I found on web there is reporting this

"Operating the Alerter on the GE AC4400CW
In the GE AC4400CW there is no in-cab interactive way to enable or disable the alerter, it is disabled by default. To enable or disable it, press CTRL + NUMPAD ENTER.
Once enabled, an additional indicator shows up on the standard IFD screen:"

My question is pretty simple: can we do that manually, from the onboard computer?
I ask cause I would use the Xbox controller to play.

    Thank you

So I suppose the real train operator to switch on/off the alerter use the power of his mind or Alexa (not in-cab like panel button, I was thinking, but it will be on IFD screen) :D

Anyway thank you the same :)

IIRC, this was asked in a Q&A or stream when TSW1 released and the answer was it can't be turned off in the real cab (safety feature).

When the alerter is on, do you guys get the sound of the alerter beeping? Cause even though I have it on I just get the notifications that the alerter is beeping but can't actually hear the beeping itself. Just curious :)

Same here, I have not noticed any sound. Mind you, i'm not an expert at all, but also just curious if this is how it should be :)

Did you guys try to wait long enough for it to start beeping, it takes a while, at least in the GP-38, it takes a lot longer for it to start beeping than what is customary on european systems, the exceptions beeing the Cat and Baby Bullet where the beeping starts sooner ?

The sound for the alerter is low and barely audible so you will need to keep a eye on the icon below the gradient, as it will light up when it goes off. Hopefully DTG will increase the tone in one of their next fixes.

Yeah, that's what I'm saying. I can see the alerter but not hear it which is weird. I could hear it before but then it stopped so idk.
