The ICE makes his way from Dortmund to Stuttgart and back on a matchday in his unique "Borussia Dortmund" - Livery!
Making the small details is a lot easier when you create it big so you can see what you're doing, then grouping all the layers together and scaling it down, then position it in the correct spot.
That’s a really good idea, I tried to expand the logo and group the layers but I don’t know why it only lets me group 2 layers. I don’t know if I’m doing something wrong or what.
It seems there's a couple of restrictions found in the livery editor - you can't group shapes that are not in the layers next to each other, I think you can only group layers put from the same side and someone mentioned it doesn't let you group shapes when doubling them would get you over 300 layers, so let's say you're at 280 and the UP shield has 25 layers, it will only let you group 20, so copying it end up at 300 layers. Weird rule I know. Very interesting to see ICE3 in HST livery. Nicely done! Might be interesting to experiment with a bit of shaping on the cab to match the different ICE3 shape a bit more. Just an idea, might turn out extremely bad, IDK
First post with the second livery I created. Some say that the Swiss are good with railways. In that silly parallel universe of mine, the freight branch of the Swiss Federal Railways has just taken over some freight lines in the US, and repainted the locomotives as well. Maybe one day, we'll see some Inter City trains on the Sand Patch Grade, but for now... Well enough spoken, here are the pictures. Started again on my UP AC4400, what a difference some practice makes. My first attempt at a livery.. Started from scratch, tried my best with the UP logo and abit weathering.
This is my first attempt with the Livery Designer. I use PS4 - regular one - so it is not easy to work with it. I made a repaint of the coal hopper freight car. in the style of electric power company scheme. Simply one for the first time. I did it in one hour, with no tutorial just trying to know how this work just probe and error way. Of course more details to be added. Hope you like it.
Saw this on a class 390 earlier and decided to make an ICE version Edit: i also managed to recreate a white DB logo on the nose but not visible because I’m not sure about copyright
that was the second thing I did Iivery editor, it's super simple, circle with a cross and just standard font Santa Fe. I really want to go back and do it properly but dont think I can be bothered spending hours writing out Santa Fe properly again...
I have been trying that with the swallow livery and I'm not sure it's quite there yet, it would have been nice to first have a HST or IC225, or even just any loco with passenger carriages to practice these liveries on first before having to take creative liberties to fit them onto a multiple unit with windows everywhere, and a bloody curvy one at that, completely at odds with the very straight edged BR branding! Nevertheless it is fun to try and see what comes out at the end of it.
Hi, I'm messing around in the livery designer again and I've got some problems... Can someone tell me how to put layers on top of other layers?? For example the railing a different paint job than the logo behind it. Thanks in advance!
You need to put your base layer on (what you want on the body, the create another layer which sits on top whatever colour you want the hand rails. Now change the projection of that layer so it just covers the rails. Youl see what I mean
Sneak peak of my next build But this is what i've got so far.. Do I need to first delete the layer and then re add it? also its not just for the railings its for letters and numbers to. The ones on the side there are layers ontop of the engine paint and it's not a problem.. Thanks for the fast reply mkennaway
Yeh what that man said, move the light blue one on the handrails down the list to below your logo. So it becomes the layer on top.
Hi all, I've bin working all day to complete this loco. And yes CNtomato it's ONR In the editer it looks normal but if I use it in-game it looks like this. Does anyone know a fix?? Thanks!
If you enlarge the photo you'le see a texture bug or something. it all looks blurry. Here's a photo of the same logo but in the editer:
The game seriously compresses the livery, definitely too much. It breaks shapes and also colours (weathering is basically undoable).
Here is my new creation, in all its Swissness The ICE3 in Swiss Federal Railways livery. As a lot of swiss trains, it has been baptized with a City/Canton. In that case, the City of Lausanne
My latest creation: (WARNING: Some viewers may find it offensive. I did not do it because of what it may represent to some, but because it is a piece of an iconic TV series. Don't say I didn't warn you.) Spoiler It was a certainly doesn't fit the same on a big AC4400CW as it does on a '69 charger.
Had some weird overheating issues with my PS4, apparently the fan got stuck or something, so I havent been able to work on much lately, but heres 4 Boxcars, 2 Hydra Cushions with Cotton Belt and Southern Pacific Lettering, and 2 Golden West Service Boxcars, with one sun bleached with an SP patch. I've also been working on the following -Amtrak PHV livery for the ICE 3 -Worked on my GTW 1776 to update it with the mirroring with Projections -A Standard GT GP38-2 -Base SP bloody nose paint for the SD40-2 and GP38-2 -Base Bluebonnet for the GP38-2
Yeh iv had this aswell, the first Union pacific loco I done, the UP writing on the side almost turned out pink blended to the yellow and half disappeared. I I the writing bigger and more red and that helped. Not noticed any bad effect like that with weathering though.
Today I finaly finished my second creation in the editer... Not totaly satisfied with the gradient blue but I'l wait for the RGB to insert precise numbers.. Hope you like it!
Some really beautiful work here guys. I don't suppose some of you PC users would mind sharing your liveries with the 3rd party tool that is available? https://www.trainsimcommunity.com/ I've really been looking forward to being able to expand the fleet of US frieght cars available especially.
If you can tell me how to separate the liveries and share them, I have no problem providing mine (the CP AC and Eurostar ICE3 posted earlier in this thread). I have noticed the existence of some program for that, but no one added instructions on how not to destroy my collection in the process
Installing the program should be all you need, it didn't remove my existing liveries when I installed it. This is the guide video on how to install.
Seeing as Bayern Munich won the champions league I’d thought I’d do a celebration livery. But I’ve hit a roadblock. If anyone wants to give me Some idea on what I could add (pretty happy with what I’ve placed) I’m willing to listen! (Added the signature stripe in white)
Might be a bit tricky, but having the red stripe on the end of the car slowly turn into a white one and continue all the way to the front as inverse DB might look good.
Thank you, completely missed there's a new version of that manager with a cool UI. Already submitted my creations. Not yet sadly.
