So Bakerloo line: In general it's very dark in the tunnels. Some high beams would be really nice, at least to learn the route. Are those speed-limit signs on the right side of the track in the tunnels actually meant to be seen? By the time there's is enough light on them to see, they're in the far corner of the right window partially covered up. How do you turn on the interior passenger lights? Generally, seen this in both on Bakerloo and Eastcoast: When you're supposed to bring an empty train back to the yard, it's quite disconcerting to see all the `passengers` that remain in the train. Especially if you have to change cabs halfway.
Agree that the headlamps aren't up to the job in the tunnels and I can't believe the drivers in real life are unable to see the rails ahead. These lamps are so bad that using the interior cab lights has more effect on visibilty ouside.
It's dark like that even when driving a car in a long tunnel, if there's nothing to reflect the headlights and no other light sources you can't see much ahead of you
