Phase 2 of Preserved collection is coming and I wanted to ask whether the sales mentioned by Matt in one of the pre-release streams (Q/A 5) will still apply to these same as they did to Phase 1? (35 % on routes and 20 % on locos on Steam)
Wonder if information regarding forthcoming sales would encourage more people to join the forums and Dovetail Live?
Just subscribe to DTGs newsletter and wishlist any items on Steam. Might also use isthereanydeal.com for pricewatch.
Steam usually has the Halloween sale (end of october) and the Fall sale (usually near Black Friday). So expect to see discounts on those dates. This doesn't mean we can't get TSW specific discounts before that.
If there are no sales this time around, is there any chance that DTG may consider making some Route bundles as each set of Preserved Collection comes out? Something I put into the suggestions yesterday: https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/preserved-collection-route-bundles.26906/
DTG does not speak for Steam (PC), Microsoft (X-Box), PlayStationStore (PS4), or the many 3rd party game sellers that sell everything from Steam codes to discs for all consoles. Unless those sites have a restricted clause in their seller agreement with DTG, then it is up to the individual site what and when to put on sale.
This seems like a massive missed trick, to be honest. I'd be eager to fill out my collection with each new Preserved Collection update, and I bought everything I didn't already own in the first wave, but the discount encouraged this a lot. With the second wave not discounted I'd be looking at a bill of £98 to buy everything remaining, and with no sale incentive, I'm not likely to do this any time soon...
