So the BR 403 which will come with München Augsburg is basically exactly the same train as the BR 406 which is on Schnellfahrstrecke Köln Aachen. So could you not do the BR 401 instead? That would be a new train and it is around everywhere in Germany. I would also like all the other ICE types but why does it have to be the same train again? Why not a new ICE type? I am sure everyone else would prefer a new ICE too. This is the BR 401:
that really would be better instead of reusing things. If I remember correctly this is the ICE1 right?
401(P), 103(P/F) and 189(F) instead of 403(P), 112(P/F?) and 187(F). But first of all give us an Intecity train (DB 101(P/F) and 103(P/F) too). P=passengers, F=freight, 101 and 103 also for Intercity services.
Class 193 for me. That’s my main goal. It’s both for freight, and Passenger for FlixTrains. Also Class 152 and the ICE1, Class 120 for additional IC services Top and Tailed. G1000 BB would be great for both shunting and Mainline Freight services.
Yes, yes, yes, please! I also wondered why do an BR 403 when it's so similar to the BR 406 ICE 3M we got with Köln. So please, do a 401/ICE1 and you still could through in some 406 3M, since it's from the base game. I don't need no 403. Also, please put a TGV layer in there for the TGV Duplex that comes with LGV Méditerranée: Marseille - Avignon. And a Dosto RE layer that stops at all the stations that are not S-Bahn since that only goes half way from Munich to Augsburg. And a freight layer from the freight tracks at Augsburg HBF to the many yard between Pasing and München HBF. And while you're at it, when the 204 is ready, maybe some shunting in München yards and from Augsburg HBF to the Localbahn yard. Besides the ICE 1 that I really want I don't need any new rolling stock (for now). Just put all the stuff on there we alread got. There's a reason that they had to expand the route to 4 tracks a decade ago. It's some of the heaviest and densest rail traffic you can find in Europe: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Munich–Augsburg_railway Please? Oh, and just to be safe: They're adding a Tram tunnel under Augsburg HBF. Don't you dare and put that construction into the game, noone wants to see that.
In TS, I was quite happy with the 101. Not really getting the Traxx hype. But that's just me. Now, can we please get back to lobbying for the ICE 1?
I really like it too, It is my favorite ICE By the way, the highest speed on München -Augsburg is 230 km/h so we dont even need the BR 403 there. The BR 401 can do up to 280 km/h so it would fit good on the route too
I think they take the BR 403 instead of the BR401, because they already have the model. I can imagine building a model of an whole ICE is very expensive and needs some hard work. So they just take the 403 to save money, because they don’t make more profit by taking the BR 401, but have to spend more money and time on it. The most realistic, in my opinion, would be the iconic BR 401 as and DLC for this route. I hope they do it that way, because a BR 401 in TSW 2 would be beautiful!
Not a bad idea to be honest. There is so much potential for DLC for these routes as there is such a range of Trains that run. It’s harder for UK, because most trains are localised with little freight or not much variety in what you see (in most cases)
Sure I know that this is probably the way it is. And I am fine with it being the BR403. But of course I am also hoping to get "more" out of it for the money I spend. No rant or salt, but of course a route plus 2 new trains always feels better than only 1 new train (and the 423, while a completely other model than the 425, still looks very alike).
Yes but we are talking about TSW here and not about TS. I would like to see more new trains in TSW instead of the same trains as before in new routes.
it does: "von Berlin über Wolfsburg – Braunschweig – Hildesheim – Göttingen – Kassel-Wilhelmshöhe – Fulda – Hanau – Frankfurt (Main) – Mannheim – Karlsruhe – Offenburg nach Basel (ICE-Linie 12) oder – Stuttgart – Ulm – Augsburg – München (ICE-Linie 11)" - from wikipedia. ICE line 11 runs between Augsburg and München with the 401 model stil at this point
I'd get that. But why then call it 403 and not just use the 406 from Köln? Seems a little shady. I didn't study the timetable. But as I said, I still see them regularly at Augsburg HBF.
I think they want to give us a "new" train because technically the 403 is not the same train as the 406. But it looks exactly the same and the only difference that you can see is that the 403 has one pantograph and the 406 has multiple. I think they give us the 403 so they can say that we are getting two new trains
Exactly to say we have two trains now that are High Speed. Hopefully ICE 1 comes very soon it still gets a lot of usage on routes.
I disagree, the ICE3M (406) we got in the Köln-aachen is not the german ICE3 which runs on the Munich-Augsburg (403), and the ICE3 frequency is much higher than ICE1 frequency on that line. So I still think priority should be given to the BR403. However, we should get an ICE1/2 package as a DLC. I think they are similar enough to get them both with a 30€ purchase.
Yes I am hoping that when the Class 182 comes with the Hamburg - Lübeck, that they update it to have LZB. It’s a shame it can’t go over 160km with the original.
I think a new train would still be cooler. As I said, the BR 403 has no major differences to the BR 406 that you can see. And as the BR 401 is around on that route I prefer it. New trains for TSW 2 = better
And by the way, yes it is. There are three types of trains that are classified as ICE 3. The BR 403, the BR 406 and the BR 407. The 407 is a bit different though, it is called ICE 3 Velaro D but it still belongs to the ICE 3 family.
Yeeeeeeah, funnily enough I kept thinking about this topic... and I'm not so sure about what I wrote earlier, I still think we need the BR403, but at same time I really love the ICE 1 and 2 as well. Anyway I think they know they can recycle a lot from the BR406 and that's the exact reason why they won't give us the BR401 anyway, but actually given the choice... more variety is always better averall
By the way... the BR406 in TSW lacks a lot of systems. Such as KVB, TVM430 and wonder if it have also Crocodile, ATB and Eurobalise. Also if it can operate in multi-voltage and raise-lower the pantographs given to the specific voltage/systems
what do they it do?? dont have a problem if they focused on what will be actually helpful in the route.
With all systems working... you can use the BR406 on, DBB, OBB, SBB, SNCF, SNCB routes etc. Since the LGV line may come to TSW, the 406 may be used there as well
It's possibly why they have chosen this train as both are similar. Gets more usage with those upcoming route add ons.
The BR406 is the ICE3M on Köln-Aachen The BR403 is the ICE3 which will be on München Augsburg. I hope that the BR406 that we already have gets an upgrade to be multi-system. Otherwise there would't be a reason to have 2 alike models just with the difference with quantity of pantographs This is how the ICE3M panel should be...
Something I find especially weird about doing the 403 is that TS Classic on the very same route uses the 406. Really don't get why they now suddenly feel the need to make the 403, seems like waste of resources to make basically the same loco with minimal differences. Honestly if they have to have a ICE 3 I'd rather just have them use the ICE 3M again, at least that would've freed up resources to work on some of the other routes and locos instead.
I would like the BR 411 too. As the route just has a maximum speed of 230 km/h the BR 411 fits on it as well. It can go up to 230 km/h
I dont think we have a chance to change that anymore... They will announce the route very soon because there already was a hidden BR 423 in the Twitter post and nothing was changed in the roadmap... Thanks for your support, maybe we'll get the 401 in a future DLC
Honestly I did not think that they would change it short term anyway, considering how long ahead these things are planned and how much effort goes into modeling the trains.
