I cannot seem to work out how to get AI services on my created scenarios. I drive the entire route without encountering a single service. Am I doing something wrong?
Are you setting the AI services to depart before your player service? Because whether by design, or by bug, AI trains can only be set to depart at the same time or after the player train does. So if you set a departure at 08.00am, the AI trains will all have to be set for 8.00am or later otherwise they won't begin their journey.
Ah, in that case, if you don't set any there won't be any generated, in the scenarios there are only as many trains as you create, so that would explain why you haven't seen any. You'll be limited by number of platforms available, and the trains can't continue off the map so you're likely to only be able to create a handful of services before your start and end points are full. You have to create the AI services yourself in the same way you create the service you control. On the same screen where the service you have created appears, press L1 to create a subsequent service. The little driver icon means that is the service you are driving, the rest are AI. The important thing for creating the AI services is that you ensure you make sure you have ticked the 'passenger' box and unticked the 'player' box if you want that service to be run by the AI. Like this: You may have to play around with it a bit to figure it out, took me two weeks before I just about got the hang of it, and even now I put trains in the wrong place blocking trains behind or occupying platforms so I can't finish a service.
That's much better. I am now riding my chosen train on a line with other traffic going by. Far less lonely. Thanks guys.
