Nobody has said that it is, so better to assume that it's not In fact better to assume that until it's been posted about as an article and DTG done a release video on it, that it's not going to be out on any given day
On Rivet's forums today, they said they're still working it and that things may take a little longer than usual as it's their first route in TSW.
The longer we wait, the more we will enjoy it when it arrives. That’s how I’m looking at it. Early October as a guess.
From what I heard, it wasn't actually on the store, so when the in game icon was clicked, it didn't actually lead anywhere.
I certainly would rather wait and have a polished product as opposed to some of the rushed releases we've seen in the past. Hopefully the price point is right...
Yes I think the price will play a big part. If it is the same as the others, £24.99 I think there will be a lot of complaints because of it being a small route. If it is the normal price I will just wait until it is in a sale.
Here's the latest photo from Rivet: It appears rivet have put time and effort into modeling the inside of the depot, although granted it's a bit bare, instead of just having it inaccessible which has been the case on most previous TSW routes.
You might as well just say "I have a limited attention span" and be done with it. Rivet can take as long as they like, if it's quality when it comes out. Better to do that than rush and... well we know how that ends up
Yeah, I guess it was, but still. "If they don't bring it out people will lose interest..." I doubt that
I wonder if the release date is any closer. The hype hasn’t even started yet. I am worried about a seeming lack of shadow though. This has been evident in a couple of screenshots to date.
It's got to be soon, otherwise they wouldn't have moved it out of the "In Production" section on the roadmap, which would suggest it is no longer in production Without a doubt one of the most anticipated DLC for TSW so far it seems. Wonder if they'll have us doing shunting in and out of the depot. Looks cracking.
Because if they give any date and something happens so that they can not meet that date, there will be an uproar. It is common business to announce a date only when it is absolutely set. Just imagine what you would see here if the release date was today and they announce it was not finished and needs to be postponed. Just give them a little bit more time, time passes faster than you think
Good point, I can't see any shadows in that screenshot where you'd expect to see some. Although there's definitely shadows here: Edit: Nevermind, I've just found some shadows by the bottom of the door and and on the brick wall by the bottom of the handrail, I think the sun's just very high in the sky.
This picture has me excited to finally see the whole route. This will be our first 3rd party route in the TSW franchise and I’m glad they are taking the time to make a good first impression for their routes. Rivet games proved themselves when they released the very well designed DB204 and the 3rd party developers even went as far as to patch in a new scenario and other fixes. Can’t wait!
I’m hoping that the reason they are taking so long is to get the hovercraft simulation correct. The hoverport is so close to the track that if I was making the route, and it being as short as it is, I’d have the hovercraft animated for the wow factor. We have a hot air balloon from DTG, so Rivet have to give us a hovercraft.
Yeah I don't think they "have" to. You are setting your expectations quite high, and in the end you might just get disappointed and blame rivet games for not meeting a bar that you have set yourself...
I may not have been entirely serious with my ‘demand’ for a working hovercraft. If the guys at Rivet didn’t think it was worth putting in then I’m not going to be disappointed, the route and train are what matters, but it’s what I would do. It’s not like such animations aren’t possible but they aren’t exactly necessary either.
Yes exactly. Of course I will be happy for any detail that they add, but most importantly, the core in the train and the route need to be great. I don't know the route irl though, I feel that makes it easier for my personal expectations as I don't know what to look out for
Yep. Super old stock as well, Although upgrades are currently being undertaken and 'newer' stock is being introduced at the end of the year. It'll still only be 2 coaches. Sam
No, they run double 2 car sets in summer to form 4 car trains. Though this hasn't been possible in recent months due to a shortage of working units.
Ok, I was asking this because in SOME IRL pics, the trains are in either 4 or 5 car formations and in other pics, they are only in 2 car formations (like the in-game pic)
I wonder what the formations will be in timetable mode, whether we'll get to choose between 2 and 4 car trains. I'm guessing we'll definitely get an option for 4 car in the Scenario Planner.
There's only 2 working units left, sometimes only one unit working, so it goes down to an hourly service.
The way I look at it is we get the Isle of Wight experience Rivet intended and then we also are adding Isle of Wight and it’s locomotive to the scenario planner which adds a multitude of stuff we can try.
We get a clunky old train, in the worst rail livery ever, on the shortest route by far in TSW history, all for twenty quid. What’s not to like? Getting close now, I can smell it...
I think you might have been looking at the old Standard Stock that used to be used on the island, which were up to 5 coaches long. Actually, I'm pretty sure they recently recovered one of the units. I might check on RailUK Forums later to make sure. Lighten up mate.
I'm pretty sure they've got 3 working units. One, which from what I read was the most reliable, is currently having major exam so has not been in service for a few months. This leaves two units that are in service to run a timetable that requires two units so quite often they have to run an hourly service when one needs maintenance.
007 is currently in the workshop so technically there are 3 units that can be used, and 007 is the newest 38 on the island when it arrived back in 2009 I think but she arrived with transport for London on the sides and no smoking on the windows in the London underground roundels
Are you sure, because I thought it was just currently under major overhaul. According to the caption of a recent photo on the Web page below, 007 is just coming to the end of a long overhaul. http://www.lttractiongroup.co.uk/class-483-gallery.html#
004 was attacked by vandals a few weeks ago, so it's now in a grey primer coat. While it may still be able to run, I doubt it'll see any more service on the island.
"A little longer" means usually more time than expected. Maybe, end of the month seems quite realistic. Or another DLC will released earlier...
“A little longer” was the reply to the person who said poh I hope it’s coming today or at least this week. A little longer I guess seems to me that if he wants to play it today or this week. Remember that DTG stated that Rivet Games are responsible for how they roll out the route. They could totally announce Monday it’s coming on Tuesday. They don’t need a pre-release stream a week before or anything.
