These General Electric Locomotives such as the ES40DC, ES44AH, and ET44AH are all part of the GE Evolution Series and are nicknamed by Railfans as GEVOs. Lets start off with the ES40DC:

GE ES40DC: The GE ES40DCs and ES44DCs began production in 2004 and ended production in 2008. The GE Evolution Series began with the ES40DC and ES44DC, due to the US implementing the EPA Tier 2 Standards, which the ES40DC meets. These ES40DC locomotives are capable of producing 4,000 horsepower, have a GE 16-cylinder, four-stroke, 7FDL-16, and have DC traction motors. CSX ended up ordering 302 units numbered between 5200-5501. The ES40DCs on CSX's roster come in 2 paint schemes... The Standard YN3, and the YN3b Boxcar Logo Paint Scheme. They also came equipped with either a Nathan K5HL or a Nathan K5LA.

    ES40DC in YN3:

    First Gen Nathan K5HL Sample:
    Second Gen Nathan K5HL Sample:
    Third Gen Nathan K5HL Sample:
    Nathan K5LA:

GE ES44AH: The GE ES44AH began production in 2004 and is still being produced today for railroads outside of the US. The early ES44AHs on the CSX roster numbered between 700-819 have low number boards like the ES44DCs, and are EPA Tier 2 compliant. These early ES44AHs are mostly in YN3 with a select few in the YN3b paint. The rest of the ES44AHs on the roster feature High number boards, and are numbered from 820-999 and 3000-3249. The ES44AHs below 950 are in YN3 while the ES44AHs above 950 are in YN3b. These ES44AHs have 1st Gen K5HLs, 2nd Gen K5HLs, and 3rd Gen K5HLs, along with some K5LAs.

GE ES44AH with low numberboards (YN3):

The horn links from above can be used as examples again.

GE ET44AH: The GE ET44AH is the Tier 4 complain locomotive from the Evolution Series. The ET44AH has 4,400 hp, AC traction motors, and a GE 7FDL-16 and are numbered between 3250-3474. They are also mostly equipped with Nathan 3rd Gen K5HLs with a few supporting other horns such as K5LAs.

    GE ET44AH:

If Dovetail games would make these locomotives in game in would add more variety along with trains spawning with ES44AHs and ET44AHs as mid or rear DPUs. CSXT 911, 1776, and 3194, along with all of the sticker and spirit units could be added as a separate pack too. I think adding these locomotives is a step in the right direction for DTG as far as Modern American Locomotives go.

Except what’s the point in adding trains that look almost exactly like the AC4400?

I want all of these in a pack, along with a second pack of SD70ACes, including an SD70ACe-T4 in CSX YN3b livery. We should also get these engines in UP livery. I would love the CSX Military and First Responder units included in the GEVO pack.

I think another pack that was just EMDs would work great. I think it should include the GP38-3, GP40-2, GP40-3, SD40-3, SD70MAC/MACe, and ST70AHs would make another great pack.

In my opinion these locomotives, especially the newer ES44AHs, and ET44AHs, look completely different. They also have different cab interiors, different number board placement (on newer models), and many other differences, like the radiator section on the ET44AH

The new GE ET44AH is certainly recognizable on sight with it's huge radiator wings.
This is an ET44AH (3307) compared to an ES44AC (890)...
...and here is a picture of an AC4400CW to compare to the others -
    [IMG]
If that's your thinking, I guess you will not be buying the Dash-8 add-on when it comes?
    Here's a picture of one -
    [IMG]

GE has used the same body style since the B/C40-8W, with minor external differences like longer bodies, different radiator arrangements, and a larger box on the left of the locomotive to house AC conversion equipment. And each model (except the ES44AC/H and AC4400CW) have different trucks. The Dash 8-40CW rides on trucks similar to those used on the GE locomotives before it, both the AC4400CW and ES44AC/H have GE steerable trucks, and the ET44AC/H have High-Adhesion trucks

...another nice proposal on a loco set- good job putting this together. Man, those *are* some broad radiator wings on the AH unit... I would sure like to see that bad-boy as part of a set to be released.

I’d also like to see some bigger-iron UP locos available in the Peninsula Corridor route, though you really don’t typically see units that big running between SF and SJ... it wouldn’t be authentic, but I’d still buy it. Oakville Sub could use a set of new/larger locos in it as well... being a fan of US freights, I’d like to see add’l loco sets added to any of the US routes supported in TSW 2. Maybe one day.

It has happened though, a few pics from a few years ago at South San Francisco confirms this. Why? I have no clue though...

...hey, nice to see- thanks for posting these! I did a lot of rail-fanning years past in Stockton (near where the tower used to be) and occasionally at the SC depot in the south bay- always enjoyed seeing the bigger locos move through these areas.

The EMD pack would be amazing. I'd also like to add the CSX SD80MAC and, for UP, the SD60M and SD90MAC-H or SD90/43MAC. A UP SD40T-2 and SD45 would be awesome, too. A GE pack could include a C44-9W, CW60AC, C40-8, and all the CSX GEVOs.

At this point i honestly don't care what comes out as long as it's more American Content. I only seen 2 things on the road map that are American SAD really really SAD DTG CSX C40-8W and Union Pacific route with the same old locomotives as Sand Patch reskinned. Variety of different style and looks i'm for like give us a SD40-2 Snoot UP instead of the normal SD40-2 or a SD60M change it up because honestly who really wants a CSX C40-8W unit i haven't seen anyone ask for that ever on the Forums

There is also the Clinchfield RR coming, so there is two NA routes and one loco coming.

How would an SD40-2 snoot be different than the SD40-2 other than the longer nose? Internally, it is the same locomotive, so the driving experience is no different.
The D8-40CW is both internally and externally different than the AC4400CW.

Technically, the Union Pacific AC4400CWs "should" be someone slightly different than the CSX AC4400's, as the CSX ones for SPG have the Self Steering Trucks (Which CSX #200-599 have)
    CSX209inNNVA.jpg

Union Pacific never ordered theirs with this feature. Also some of UP's AC4400's (Later orders and ex SP ones) have their number board above the cab, rather than below.
    aDSC_0870 UP 6280.jpg

Though their older orders and ex CNW's ones do have them on the nose.

I understand the SD40-2 Snoot Nose is the same as SD40-2 but given how Dovetail likes to Copy and Paste everything or reskin then sell it as "NEW" content that's the reason why i said Snoot so we all know were getting a "NEW" locomotive and NOT a copy reskin Locomotive, almost every SD40-2 that Union Pacific own's has the Main front headlight in the Nose and with that being said so does the CSX SD40-2 in game so Dovetail is just going to Reskin and say "NEW" content Wrong !

That's my point or would you rather have the same old CSX Locomotives in game as the Sand Patch Grade but just reskinned and pay for copies i sure the hell don't want that. Because we all have experienced Dovetail doing that in the past in Train Simulator for the last 20 some years it gets old and annoying fast especially when most players are waiting for a new route thinking new locomotive and sadly we get reused reskinned Locomotive to a New Route very disappointing when Dovetail does that. I just don't want Dovetail to go down that block again in TSW2 as they have in TS.

I don't mind getting more CSX content. (One of my favorite RRs)
What I really want is a selection of different locomotives painted for different railroads.

Wonder if there would be any use for a CSX B20-8 on Sand Patch for yard work, obviously wouldn't be well suited for mainline work but its an interesting thought.

All i really want in game is 3 things and i know its a long long way off and may never get 2 of them ever is a Norfolk Southern SD40-2 High Short Hood and a RPU6 Slug plus and RCL Radio Controlled Locomotive set-up perfect for yard switching operations, that's all i want very very simple but never get it. Because it's Dovetail and they only believe in Passenger or A to B mission Run's. No loco freight or power moves, No yard service mission's like building a freight train Nope there simple so only A to B run's. Reason's why i already stopped playing TSW2 very very boring content.

TSW2 doesn't even make sense your a Engineer slash Conductor slash brakeman like Dovetail needs to identify who your playing as because last i checked you can't be all, it would make know sense. Give us ai brakemen or Conductor's why should i have to leave the locomotive to uncouple cars and through a switch i'm the Engineer really makes know sense.

Still Know talk about "Multi-Player" or "STEAM LOCOMOTIVE'S" guess that will come out in TSW3

These would make more sense now especially with Cane Creek being released.

Excellent idea and all these locomotives can be reskinned into Union Pacific for Cane Creek and if long routes possible then train simulator world two versions of Norfolk Southern coal District Union Pacific Donner Pass and Tehachapi Pass routes from Train Sim 21. The reason why I mentioned the reskin is that major Freight railroads in the United States order the same locomotive yet capable of MU controls to each other despite having customisation. Genset CSX 1300s Cane Creek Peninsula corridor 2700s Union Pacific.
