I’ve noticed a few of you have issues with the current ‘beach ball’ speedometer meter TSW 2 uses so I decided to make my own custom made version.

It isn’t perfect however you can see it is now a lot more easier to read. You can download it from here.

Simply place in your DLC folder.

*I may update this mod so it’s more accurate and further easier to distinguish the line*

Thank you so much. I really can't work with the ball, except for full speed or full break I never could read any information from it. Seemed a bit weird as a design choice to me.
Will try your mod later today!

That’s awesome that you managed to discover the file(s) responsible for this display, and actually fixed the issue! I used to do a lot of ‘under the hood’ stuff back in my pc and systems days- so I appreciate the effort you put into this. Good job... thanks for sharing this with the community.

Cool, thank you for this small bar, for me it is a big improvement.

Thanks for this mod....with it installed, it highlights the inherent issue with TSW2's accelerometer...as it clearly shows below the line even when stationary. Hopefully this is fixed in a future patch and while they are at it, change it to a line so we don't have to use a mod to get rid of the stupid beach ball

That's a question for DTG to answer....TSW2's accelerometer is clearly broken

So it's not only me who got confused, I was suspicious with the ball, but with the line yes, it clearly stays below the mid-bar when in neutral. This way it is really not that useful...

Hi, which arrows are you referring to and what would you like the final design to look like?

The two arrows ending the vertical line of the accelerometer. There is no need for them. I like a minimalist style.

    Fantastic mod!
Just one idea, could you make the image of the bar in a way that it has a transparent border underneath it so that the bar visually appears to be in the middle of the accelerometer when the train is no moving/accelerating?

Unfortunately this will still be off as DTG hasn’t cantered the position of the ‘middle point’ properly so it’ll always appear to be under the centre line.

This is a great idea, and I see where it can be frustrating. But is it not be possible to make your replacement bar image offset with transparent pixels to the top and/or bottom to try to align it better with the center line?

It shouldn't be centered in neutral unless the acceleration is actually zero. Drag, rolling resistance, slight upward gradients etc will all slow down the train even if there are no brakes applied. Before any offsets are implemented I think it is worth checking that the actually zero is really offset.

Would be even better if the central tick was not obscured.
Half white central tick on one side and coloured moving tick on the other.
Still anything is better than the ball.

I refuse to post anything in there as that entire section is cluttered up and isn’t organised. Also, mods are for PC only so it doesn’t make sense to post in a section where all users can see it, but only certain users are available to use it.

Is this modified accelerometer available somewhere updated for UE 4.26?

Nope. I haven't touched it as I was hoping DTG were going to sort it out.

Yes, centered yes, but londonmidland's mod did not fix the off-center bug, it was addressing something completely different ;)

It's a shame there weren't more vehicles with the coloured ball like Br 423, that simple change nicely shows whether you accelerate or decelerate. Even if not centred on the HUD, it helps a whole lot.

londonmidland Hi, did you create an update of this mod for TSW3? I cannot find it at the moment.

I was hoping the one on Niddertal would become standard for TSW3
