Welcome back to the Train Simulator Screenshot Contest!

This week's theme is: Narrow Gauge/Metre Gauge

There is no vote this week as there was a tie in the votes so will run this theme this week and the other theme that joint won the vote in week 40.

The Vote will return in week 40!

Follow us on Instagram (instagram.com/trainsim) to see your screenshots featured on our feed!

    How does it work?

You can submit your screenshot to the thread, and every Friday we will choose which screenshots will go to the loading screens. Shortly after, we will open a new thread and announce the winners. Each week has its own theme which is voted for by the community.

    Competition Rules:
    • Limit is 2 screenshots per person; 1 screenshot per post.
    • Include in your post the route the screenshot was taken on as well as the name of the train (if applicable).
    • Screenshots must be in a 16:9 resolution, at least 1920x1080 pixels.
    • Screenshots must fit the theme of the week, as stated at the beginning of this post.
    Other Rules:

    • Official content only. Please make sure anything that is not available on the Steam Store or Dovetail Store is not shown in the screenshot. - This means no reshade, repaint mods, track upgrades or workshop routes.
    • Your entry may be disqualified if it is deemed to not follow these rules. Please limit chat to only when absolutely necessary.
    • Competition closes at mid-day Friday (UK time). The winner will be chosen every Friday.
    • Winner's Prize: The winning screenshot will appear in the game as a loading screen for 4 weeks!

    T&C:
    • Please refer the terms and conditions for this competition here:

Same, the only Narrow Gauge route I own is Clear Creek, but that isn't allowed due to the BNSF licensing issue.

I'm gonna assume the Corris Railway and the Swiss Routes are all narrow gauge?

I have just taken down my earlier post, cause now I am not sure what gauge the US routes are, as I am not very up to speed with US gauges. Research needed methinks.

"Update" - research complete - See you all next week :(

All US routes are Standard Gauge 4ft 8.5in, or 1435mm. Except Clear Creek, which is 3ft Narrow Gauge.

EDIT: Does anyone know if Japan is considered Narrow Gauge?
All three real life lines we have in game are 3ft 6in (1067mm) which is considered NG by this chart.

From Wikipedia: A narrow-gauge railway (narrow-gauge railroad in the US) is a railway with a track gauge narrower than standard 1,435 mm (4 ft 8 1⁄2 in). Most narrow-gauge railways are between 600 mm (1 ft 11 5⁄8 in) and 1,067 mm (3 ft 6 in).

Cape Gauge (3' 6"), as used in South Africa and Japan, is narrow gauge.

The screenshot of Clan Line isn't allowed as it is running on standard gauge rails.

Thanks guys, I'm pleased with how it looks to.

Plenty of other good 'shots, so well done folks. I think narrow gauge always has loads of character.
