It's because it'll take a long time to model everything. It's not the same as TSxx were the Kuju engine is easy to use. If you wan't to learn more about how they create routes it's in this Q&A

let me answer that for DTG for you with what they say on stream:
"we will talk about the clinchfield dlc when we are close to releasing it."

You're aware that GMT and UTC are the same thing? Good. Are you also aware that BST and GMT are not the same thing? Good.

The reason we use UTC is because a large number of Brits don't get that BST and GMT are different, so end up turning up an hour early then yelling about it being cancelled.

Plus it's easier to those who are not around Europe as UTC is the same around the world :)

That's very true, although if they teach it school you (should) HAVE to know it, while google is only for who wants to learn

I note there's no mention of multiplayer on the roadmap still. A lot of effort being focused in totally the wrong areas (may be not the wrong areas for revenue I suppose).

I have purchased TSW2, I went briefly into Bakerloo and livery editor and that's it.

We had vague noise of multiplayer for TSW before that was neatly put on the shelf without it, fool me once, shame on you.....

Can anyone tell me a few reason's why we need multiplayer? Not that I disagree with anyone that wants it :D

Quite. UK may have one time zone but we have several. Plus Americans and Brits "fall back" and "spring forward " at different times of the year.

We talked about multiplayer on today's stream. It's in the very earliest design stages where we're figuring out what it should be in the first instance. When there's more to say we will do, and when it appears on the roadmap you'll know we're actively working on it.

Not much of new in terms of North American stuff, the CN route moves up to next on arrival, but that's it. Hopefully some news or previews of the 2 routes or the Dash 8 in the near future.

Also, one key thing about multiplayer that DTG should also think about is how to deal with trolling, cause you know there will be that one guy that will purposely run red lights, crash trains, or hold up the mainline.

Not the most thrilling roadmap in terms of movement but another enjoyable and insightful live stream. After Isle if Wight is out, I’ll be unlikely to buy anything for a while* so the preserved collection and bugs are my biggest areas of interest. One thing that’s been in my mind is that I’m unlikely to buy any new DLC that is specific to preserved collection routes until the routes are at least as good in my eyes as their TSW2020 originals. I have other thoughts on the bug fixing process, specifically on how the choice of what gets fixed is made, which I will save for a dedicated thread at some point.

*this might change if the Munich route us too tempting for me but I shall try and resist.

What you're asking for there is a truism about game development - you cannot patch the players.

There are some who will disrupt a multiplayer session in any game purely for their own amusement. It cannot be stopped, but it can be prevented. Private sessions among likeminded players will always be more enjoyable than jumping into a random session and hoping for the best.

We don't know what shape multiplayer will take yet, but the ability to play only with those you specifically invite will near certainly be a feature of it.

I don't need a multiplayer game. I would like better rail management. Reaction to accidental events, train running on another route, overtaking a higher category train. Changes in the path, in case of train delay. I'm using translator.

    Hello.
I don't need multiplayer, I would prefer more immersion, especially thanks to ringing effects such as announcements at stations or an Ai train whistling as you pass, for example.
I would very much like to win an additional scenario for having done the 5 scenarios provided to encourage me to finish the scenarios.

Shame that Great Western Express is still a while away. I'm itching to play that route again.

At least the Isle of Wight is just around the corner, and it's good to see some bugs be addressed.

I’m glad DTG listened to the community and is spending more time bringing the persevered content over to TSW 2, to make sure it works better.

Clearly rushing to get everything in, in order to get started on improvements wasn’t the best idea, as preserved content has been performing in a less than ideal way.

And still the BR 101 is planned for SKA (Köln-Aachen). :(
So once again: The BR 101 does NOT run on Köln-Aachen line on regular basis (maybe an empty stock move here and there, but that only if needed).
Instead the BR 101 would perfectly fit onto the upcoming München-Augsburg route (on which I'm very excited to see and hopefully this time with the real 230 km/h speed limit, unlike the ol TS version) since on München-Augsburg the BR 101 is running IC trains at least every hour. (Additionally I mention now, the upcomming BR 363 loco is often used to shunt IC trains in München Hbf ;) )
Greetings and always HP1 ahead ;)

I dunno if multiplayer would work good, but the use of internet in the game would be an advantage to keep schedules up to date, weather download, keep the game time sync'd with the platform time and maybe with multiplayer, someone plays as a train controller (just like an air traffic controller) to give you the path you want or need to keep traffic flowing.
Also if there's no multiplayer, the idea to have a rail controller just like Flight simulators atc to give you a service or leave a depot to the place you want to start an available service just on a free roam would be a kickass feature.

You mean Europeans, Americans... Basically the whole world except some anomalies.

That's the thing, if I hadn't been interested in football nor lived in England, I would have no idea about the difference between BST and GMT. All I would know is that Paris is one hour behind and Moscow is two hours ahead (as I'm coming from the wrong side of the red curtain).
Young people these days know but for us in our thirties and fourties not so straightforward (young people have no idea about Moscow thou) hence why UTC is monumental!

    GMT (Greenwich Mean Time)
UTC (Universal Time Coordinated) this term is used mainly in aviation.
Both are the same and the only country/city that runs that timezone year round is Reykjavik in Iceland
Paris is always ahead of the UTC
CEST (Central European Standard Time) which is Madrid, Berlin, Rome, Paris, Copenhagen, Oslo and Stockholm are UTC+1 and in Daylight Saving Time becomes UTC+2
London in BST are UTC+0 and in BDST becomes UTC+1

The roadmap is just that, A roadmap. Only there to let us in on what DTG are up to. I suspect there will be many more “uneventful “maps in the future aswell as some suprises.

That’s not true. BST is UTC+1 and is what we are in now, BDST was UTC+2 during the war. Once the clocks go back in the last weekend of October we will be in GMT which is UTC equivalent.

All three of those lines are predominantly automatically driven, you wouldn’t enjoy them as a simulator. Unless of course they did historic versions from before auto running came in.

For München – Augsburg, on all screenshots, we see only BR 403. Yet on that track, there is also quite a lot of ICE 3M in use - that one from the Köln - Aachen route, which everyone has, as it's the default route.
Will we have scenarios with ICE 3M and will we see ICE 3M outside the windows or we will have for some reason only 403 on this route?

GMT and BST has been used since the war.
Is it just German routes that are the main focus.
That would of been worked on for months prior before TSw2.

While true, it doesn't change the fact that many Brits do not distinguish between the two, hence UTC.

For the same reason (pro-tip here aspiring communication workers!) we always use three letter dates - Oct rather than 10 for October - so that the different date formats cannot confuse people. Providing they understand English, of course.
