Quality is probably the reason the München - Augsburg route was streamed this week rather than Workshop Wednesday. That route looks good with a lot of detail and a nice looking train interior. They seem quite proud of that so far, and by streaming it earlier week hoped to convince you that TSW is improving in quality. The IoW PC version looks better, but for full price PS4 customers that’s a real kick in the back.
I assume it would- but the roadmap is not linear, things sometimes appear suddenly, especially fixes, and are released quickly. In the same way some things move backwards if they need more time.
I wonder how much disk space it takes on PS and how much on PC. The comparison would show the scale of texture compression. Other shortcomings may be platform-independent.
First I would like to thank you for taking the time to give us your honest feedback, what you have included is really helpful. You are perfectly justified to expect a good quality product when you purchase it, and I am sorry this hasn't met your expectations this time. I have made a note of everything you've mentioned and it will get looked into.
Last time, a week or two after similar announcements, when asked (during the stream) about a failed for-PC update, Matt made a very surprised face. May it be a happy end this time GL Natalie!
You get annoyed in vain, they won’t do anything to fix the situation like they are not on TSW and TSW 2020. I wrote this from the experience I have with them.
You can’t get out of the side cab doors. When you press triangle to exit, it forces you back into the cab. At least one train has had a driver in the front and rear cabs at the same time.
I agree with most of the above. I have just completed introduction which is not very intuitive, seem to be parts of the instructions missed. Sometimes doors don't open and when in train you struggle to climb out. Textures are poor, I am on ps4 pro and the sea looks awful, dead and flat. No seabird noise, no sound of the sea lapping against the pier, a very boring flat resort. I have never really felt ripped off before, but I do with this, should have been £15.99 at most. Poor.
The colours/lighting/textures is really giving me eye strain and a headache. Not had that with any other route in the game.
Honestly, I'm glad I waited to see how it looks before buying. I haven't even purchased IOW but i'm already disappointed in how it looks. I'm sorry but the console versions are a complete joke. What are those indescribible buttons for the love of god? Collision detection doesn't work properly when coupling as the cabs go through eachother, Shunt, Parallel and Series power steps don't work as they are supposed to either and many more things that have been listed on this thread. I'm sorry but this DLC is just completely unacceptable and Rivet have to refurbish the console versions.
I have always said I would volunteer to be a console tester for free if that were logistically possible. A number of the issues could easily have been spotted I’m sure
I think there's a number of people who would be willing to test (myself included), however I don't think the issues are a result of a lack of testing. They're either down to not wanting to fix the issues (due to time, cost etc) or the bar being so low that these issues actually meet the standards DTG set...
Exactly. They must have seen the issues and decided not to bother fixing to keep to the release schedule. If they really didn’t see anything wrong (and the buttons were obvious enough watching a 720 stream on an old iPhone) then can you honestly say you have any confidence in the QA process?
yes my main reason for purchasing this was it being UK. But I wish now that I had waited for a sale. I did try to talk myself out of it but still got it.
On a brighter note, I’ve found all the collectables apart from one camera and one ticket. They elude me.
Could Rivet be accused of false advertising, one of the promo pictures had seagulls above the train, so far (and I've explored the game in detail with various weather's)...no seagulls seen.
Probably not, there’s usually a disclaimer somewhere about features varying between platforms, and marketing graphics may not represent gameplay. Caveat emptor. (Publishers have been doing this for 40 years - they used to show C64 screenshots on ZX Spectrum game boxes!)
Probably stuck on the side on one of the hut type buildings where the elusive camera is, otherwise it's probably hidden where the empty poster boards are at the stations.
From what I've seen, loads of people have already purchased it, so their money is in the bank. Expect any fixes to appear on the bottom on the road map at some point
So far from what I read here the only thing that disappoints me is the lack of arrival times for stations on timetable mode Has everyone experienced that who tried it? Let's hope it is just a little bug...
Thanks guys, just saved some money. What I see here is simply unacceptable. Old story, they just don't test the console versions. I'm done with this company.
Let us hope that in Sam's usual honest way he acknowledges console issues tonight in the stream and what will be done about it with some timeline.
I bet they'll say: "It doesn't affect the way you DRIVE the train." That might be the case, but it sure as hell affects immersion, and after Sam was talking about immersion so much on the past two streams, I expect IMMERSION.
Sam says different things. But he has a good heart. If we whine a lot, they will improve. I am sure about that!
Doesn't look like Xbone has these issues and I doubt PC does. Does seem like an LOD issue and looking at those buttons theres 0% chance it was an intentional design decision on PS4 lol.
So they didn't test the PS4 version? And they didn't add times for the timetable, you can't even get a Gold Medal? Highly unacceptable. SMH, guess people were right to question why the price is so high. They need to put out a patch immediately.
I really feel for DTG Natster, she took this job on completely unaware that she’d have to use the phrase “I’m sorry it didn’t meet your expectations this time” for every single release/update since the dawn of TSW2. She’s as much a victim in this as us the customers and I genuinely feel bad for her.
DTG Natster it’s been a few hours since you were made away of the object/LoD issues - can we have a comment from DTG about whether this is due to a console limitation or is a problem? If it is the latter, in what timescale are PS4 users to expect a fix? Obviously the other issues need fixing too, but this one especially seems to be PS4 specific.
