There are some preserved routes that I am no longer interested in. Is there any way to stop them from being installed by Steam when they download the next group of preserved routes on Thursday?
Select a game in the Steam library -> right click -> properties -> DLC -> deselect at your discretion
Yes, when they want to start downloading: right click game and go to properties, then untick the dlc you don't want from the list of available dlc.
This has an interesting follow-up question. DTG Protagonist If I do not actually install a DLC (but I obviously own it) which adds a new layer to a route, that layer gets added anyway? I suppose not.

The added layers are dependent on having DLC installed, however there is a memory cost for every associated route whether owned or not and that's what we'll need to rectify pretty soon as the layer problem we have right now will only get worse. The good news is that work on this has been underway for a while.
