I keep seeing members quoting frame rates on here, what is the best way of checking the frame rate as i have never done it, I have Geforce Experience but disable the overlay unless I am recording. Could I unintentionally become obsessed with watching the frame rate and spoil my enjoyment of the game/Sim. Lol. Finally like a lot of you I have problems with the sim stuttering, is that connected to low frame rates?. I have a very high spec system does checking the frame rate affect the performance. Thanks in advance Mike
I think you just need to press F3 or F4 ingame to bring up the FPS counter (green text, mid-upper-right corner)
Or you can use the frame rate counter in steam, you can find it settings, then in game. Also it's much easier to read than the one build into tsw.
Thank you all, the frame rate is not droping below 50, which makes me wonder why trees are still being drawn as I pass them?. Mike
Yes, you will become framerate obsessed if you keep it on screen, especially if you have higher end hardware where you feel (like me) entitled to 60fps all the time on everything because of how much damn money it cost. You'll be playing perfectly happily and see that you're actually getting 45 fps instead of 60 and will spend the rest of the day investigating and trying to fix a problem that isn't a problem. Not that I have ever done that...
No Hooch!. when the frame rate is 50 fps on external cameras the trees in the three quarter distance are still changing shape almost up to the camera. Mike
That’s partially down to the way the engine renders things as well as DTG’s default values. For ‘ultra’ graphics settings they’ve set the bar pretty low. The game can certainly render out things a lot further away if you modify the values yourself.
Enjoy the game, you will notice visually if your framerate is poor and you won't be able to tell the difference between 60fps and 45fps
