I see that on steam it got removed, but why it can come back the Cajon Pass? I know that it was used by Sounthern Pacific, AT-SF and Union Pacific

Its still there for US users, it got removed from international sales due to the whole BNSF licensing issue (As the route comes with a Santa Fe F7). https://store.steampowered.com/app/208307/Train_Simulator_Cajon_Pass_Route_AddOn/

Its still possible to get the route if you can find a working key or brand new copy of Railworks 2 or Train Simulator 2012.

Also for some reason, its not listed in the ineligible products for screenshot contests.

I think that was a separate add on pack that is no longer available or if it is then it has "unbranded" locomotives in it...

Usual disclaimer applies... I stand to be corrected on this...

Not really... I suppose in theory there's a work around but it involves a laptop & being on holiday in the USA...

Another possibility is getting anyone you know in the USA to purchase it for you and then send you the code... but I'm not saying either method would definitely work...

complaint to BNSF - it is them that does not want their Logo on anything sold outside the US.
Or see if a third party company makes Santa Fe and Burlington Northern Locos
Try Railworks America for a start http://railworksamerica.com/

Not possible with Steam. At least not easily. TS2012 would work, but trying to get a modern US license to work elsewhere will not. Steam makes it quite difficult to change your region. First, you need to have an IP address there, which, easy enough. Second, though you need to add a payment method from the new country to your account and use it. Only after that can you switch your region. Also, someone from the US gifting you a new Steam key of the route will not work if Steam still knows or believes you're not in the US because that key they send you will be region locked to the US.

Only way would likely be through TS2012 or other more nefarious methods that I wouldn't advise or discuss here.

US/Canadian border has been on lockdown since March allowing essential travel only. Even then, that's not going to make a difference if his Steam account is a Canadian account.

Really if you can't buy some dlc because BNSF dosen't want it's a way to say who care of the people that want to buy it in Europe

And in Canada as well very sad that we're unable to buy this content, cannot understand what their issue is with branding outside of the US.

I remember seeing a post in the content suggestion thread for a route extension of Steven's Pass down to Seattle which included Cascades and Sounder rolling stock. Problem with Sounder is that it is operated by BNSF so branded Sounder rolling stock would also be a U.S. exclusive. I can understand BNSF not wanting to register trademarks in numerous countries but I don't understand why they can't establish their trademark in the rest of North America.

Talk about spitting your Dummy out.

The Logo on the side of anything is Copyright the owner -
If BNSF don't wish to allow their Copyright out of the USA it is their privilege
Same as there are no Virgin Trains or Arriva Trains any more from DTG.

BNSF is a US company - not a Canadian or Alaskan company
Just because the Continent is called North America it is not all one country

Just don`t undestand why it so complcated for BNSF, after all it`s just a game and when microsoft start with the first train simulator everything was ok and for them it was a lot a free publicity and BN was so happy to see their name on that game but since that everything turned just wrong...it`s for us a very sad situation....everybody can use their name except here...

Yeah, I agree, I still have Microsoft Train Simulator, and I like BNSF but I really wanted to buy the route and train like Santa Fe, Burlington Northern.

Because some idiots seem to think it is fun crashing trains and companies don't like to see that.
If somebody did that in the US it would easy for BNSF to take action - elsewhere not so easy
Both BN & Santa Fe did not mind their logos being used - BNSF is a different company.
All the stuff in the game are you so narrow minded that because you can not buy something it is a sad situation?

I still have BNSF, BN And Santa Fe locos in my TS2021 because I purchased them before they withdrew the License

Copied from Post #16 which you did not read
" BNSF wrote . . . . . Unfortunately, our licensing agreement with Dovetail is for domestic U.S. use only. In order to provide international use of our brand and logo, BNSF would have to register our trademark in every country. That would in turn mean we would have to devote extensive resources to a team that would manage our image and branding worldwide. Additionally, we would then have to collect royalties on any product that uses our branding and logo, which we currently do not do. . . . . ."

And I doubt they care, they are a railroad 1st and foremost, and are more focused on running that than caring about licensing for a train simulator.

I mean everyone wanted them to do real Heritage units, and all we got are a handful of stickers on the existing scheme.

Yes, I literally saw one last Wednesday near Mojave....
    20201110_120919.jpg
The point is that BNSF mainly cares about them being a freight railroad, and that alot of these small things are not their biggest concern (Weather the DTG licensing or doing full on Heritage Units)

Except their competitors seem to manage to license their liveries, so the world knows about UP, N&S, CP, CN, Amtrak etc, while BNSF are left looking like fools in the corner.

If I was BNSF's VP for Marketing I would be embarrassed over my departments inability to receive a gift of free advertising and goodwill generation.

In my opinion they could have make the Heritage unit like the Norfolk Sounthern ES44AC Heritage Unit, for example Burlington Northen ES44AC on Tiger Livery with the front line orange and the rest green
