As the title implies, next generation consoles are here but complete silence from DTG***, they must have tested by now so what are their thoughts and have they found any potential problems with backwards compatibility, we know there is no specific game in the pipeline but what about what we already have, time to update the community on how the TSW2 officially works on 5 and the new box

*** I haven’t t seen anything posted by DTG on next generation performance just some third party stuff

Shouldn’t DTG be confirming that? I haven’t seen a single word from them?

Give it a little longer. Ps5 not quite out yet. Plus stock is hard to find for the general public. From what Ive seen, its performing as we hoped on both machines. Im not sure any extra settings would be on a roadmap, might simply be added to an update, maybe.

Not sure if you've followed what we've said about next gen so far, but to reiterate : we've nothing to announce about next gen at present.

I thought that referred to future plans, not backwards compatibility?

In terms of adding anything new to a PS4 version to exploit the PS5s extra power. Samo1
It is encouraging to see this early footage and official gaming blogs saying how it transforms the game. C'mon Cats out the bag it looks terrific.

Must not be ready to yet. Give them time. Easy for us to play it and say it works 100%. A lot more complex for the developer to say, yes go ahead. Might be lots of behind the scenes testing going on.

A gaming blog playing a game for a bit, posting a video and saying how great it is, is not the same as a developer/publisher specifically claiming their game works as well and better on a new platform, which could be taken as a prompt for people to go buy said new platform for a half-a-grand. Needless to say, if there are issues that a gaming blog obviously would not pick up in a brief test, then DTG would want to find them before making any claims whatsoever.

Can you imagine ray tracing on TSW? Seen it on other games, train stations would be gleaming!

When there is something to announce they will announce it. That could be tomorrow or next year. If it’s just about backwards compatibility then it shouldn’t be long, if they feel they even need to announce it at all. It’ll probably be a case of someone going “it seems to be working okay for some people” in a live stream. After all, TSW2 is for the current generation not the next, unless you believe the conspiracy theory (I mean baseless speculation) I started on another thread, mu ha har...in which case you have nothing to worry about, it’s definitely going to work :D

This guy has done a few test runs on the new Xbox, lots of things look clearer and render farther away, landmarks are rendered, and the load times are within 8-10 seconds max.

I would expect the experience on PS5 to be similar if not the same as it is on the new Xbox.

But why is DTG not giving us this information? it’s their product, fair enough they don’t want to talk about future plans although there is no next generation game in the making but why the silence on backwards compatibility and what to expect from the existing game? it really doesn’t make any sense they are not crowing about any improvements

We've already said it's backwards compatible, what more would you like?

You’re now feeling a bit of the frustration PC players have felt ever since this game appeared on console. None of the features that are being asked for (except layers & formations) currently exist on PC, and many players PC’s comfortably exceed the spec of even the new gen consoles. That will never change. If DTG aren’t anywhere near pushing the boundaries of PC tech at the minute, don’t expect them to on consoles either.

If you look at it ‘cup half full’, at least there is a lot of room for improvement going forward and that in itself will be an interesting ride. The truth though is that before any of the bells and whistles appear, DTG must concentrate on the core game. Night lighting, anti-aliasing, shadow draw etc. must be addressed before anything else...we’ve all been waiting long enough.

    This is your problem
Stop thinking about what others may or should (in your opinion) do, and look to what they have done.
DTG have commented twice on this post. Accept that at face value. Move on
