Just a couple of quick spelling corrections in case people try and google some of them: Under 22, it should be "Fife circle", and under 20 it should be "Tyne and Wear Metro". Great job of compiling the list! I am still quite surprised by the top 2, I wouldn't say no to either but personally they wouldn't make the top 20. Too much time spent commuting on them in the past I guess, very little novelty value for me xD
Typos fixed. I'd appreciate if someone could double check the top 3. I couldn't quite follow Sam there. At first I thought number one was any Australian route, and he missed number three. Then he said number one was WCML, so I figured the Australian route must've been number 3. Would appreciate a double check though.
I do wonder how the number of requests was counted. It’s really easy to go on a forum or social media and spout “Eurostar route pleez” without any thought but not so easy to research and post a thorough route suggestion on a much lesser known route. I know it’s important to look at what would be popular but do likes and positive comments on a good proposal here on the forum all count as a request each or is the whole thread just one request? To be useful the counting would need to be weighted that way. It might not matter that much as Sam said alongside this list in the stream that the popularity would only be used as a tiebreaker when deciding between two or three routes, and not really used to seed an idea for a route in the first place. That’s where the detailed requests come into their own, as well as their own ideas, the licenses they have and the suitability for a route to provide interesting content. The guys at DTG are aware that the Eurostar exists and even with a million requests are never going to make the channel tunnel section because they know it would be terrible gameplay.
Are you going to publish a list of most requested features? I was curious to see if working toilets was no.1
Not just that. Considering DTG are only communicating in English, it makes sense that most people sending them suggestions are native English speakers. The number of British and American routes are pretty high, while there's barely anything German on this list. Indeed, not all suggestions are as detailed. Some are pretty ridiculous too. For every person suggestion the Channel Tunnel, there's a dozen others saying they don't want it. :P
The working toilet joke is getting kind of old now, but a serious thread about what features people would like in the future could be made into an interesting list for Sam to compile.
It’s nice to know that these were the most requested, but which one(s), if any, would DTG make in the game?
