If they let us paint the f40ph.....here are my immediate ones I have to make. All photos by me by the way.
I think a fun project for me would be to make the older Caltrain livery for the F40's and Bi-Levels Gallery Cars.
...yet another BR363 livery and this one is from NBE Rail, located in Aschaffenburg. As TSW players already know Aschaffenburg and its port area are part of the MSB route. So I discovered that BR 261 000-4 was originally used and based here until 2013. Unfortunately, the layers in the Livery Designer are limited to 300. That's why I couldn't recreate the missing logo of Bavaria. Logos and lettering always require many layers, because every letter is automatically a single layer. I guess here is still room for improvement in the future...
Finally managed to get the side view to edit by going to another livery and editing the bright side. then when I opened editor for coal hopper it brought me to that side. I used your mirror and projection advice and it worked great.... thanks so much for your help I really appreciate it. my finished project plus 2 more of my liveries.
The question is.. will they let us even modify the Bi-Levels and what parts will be modifiable? The chrome sections on the auto rack are untouchable. Those bi levels are also chrome..
Glad it worked out for you. Hopefully they fix that bug soon but it may not be high priority as it’s only affecting us platform users. Those liveries look awesome, great work.
Nice job on both the locomotives I tried something like the Conrail unit didn't do well need to redo it
Thanks, had to use blocks to change the font to match, wish they would come out with different fonts to use.
I did some more livery designs for my fictional railroad the Detroit Western. Up top is an SD40-2 that I finished up and an added bonus was the Veterans unit that I made.
A couple of my representations of what early Conrail looked like after taking over numerous failing railroads in 1976. My repaints of Erie Lackawanna and Reading Railroad.
Here’s a former CNW AC4400 with a new and fresh coating of UP paint. I was inspired by the paint scheme of UP 7106 and I decided to take on a challenge with the UP wings and the flag. It definitely got hairy when messing with the flag though. Close up to the flag, it does look a little awkward but I had to improvise with the shapes that were available. This livery should hold off until Cane Creek where hopefully the same UP flag livery will show up. I will probably make some more adjustments later on but I will leave it for right now because I don’t want to mess the flag up.
Just finished my 2nd Norfolk Southern Heritage unit (ERIE), and a New York Central boxcar. after uploading photos I think I might have to darken the green a little.
Hey guys, I did some liveries myself recently, but most likely nothing that would be new here, excepft for this one (hopefully): The vlexx livery 442 It is not hyper accurate but I am very proud of it nonetheless. Haven't seen this one irl, but I found the livery on google and immediately wanted to recreate it (which unfortunately was much harder than expected). So far I did the abellio and National Express liveries for the Talent 2 but I figured someone has most likely shown them here, as well as some Conrail Quality, BNSF and Gateway Western. This one and the abellio ones were my first where I actually created the letters by hand, as the standard font is quite ugly und unfitting. I might come back to my american trains and recreate the fonts by scratch. The Conrail Quality logo turned out great imo. I can post some other pictures if someone is interested, right now I am using the livery designer more than actually driving the trains
Any further news on when we can get preserved locos? Freaking class 66 is going to be awesome, there are so many different ones to make. Too bad I can't share things on xbox though. I would like to see the Gateway Western engine, only saw those once in real life if I remember correctly they were cool looking.
Sure, my pleasure. Mind you I am not from the US, I might have missed something obvious. I just took some pictures I found online and tried to recreate it: I have just noticed that the walkways are all in yellow. They are probably grey though I did not find a picture where I could see them. The front stripes might need to be a tiny bit thicker. And the obvious, the standard font is really bad. When I do a pass on the walkways I might redo the writing and build the letters with pieces by hand. They use thick curvy letters, that schould be managable especially since I have lots of layyers left, there was not that much to be done overall. And the interchanging numbers are... well, not fixable
Okay here is a question I've never thought to ask. If you use pc can you upload already made images, so for example a logo of a company and not have to make it all from scratch?
there may be a way to do it, you would need to find the files for the shapes in the livery designer and overwrite them with the shape you want
That... sounds... not so insane... instead of "useless shape 12" the game would get fed some useful logos. That is IF it's that easy. This could work on your own machine, but you'd need for example anyone on PC downloading your livery to same the same "logo-set" otherwise the livery would fall apart as you don't just share the compressed version that goes into the game itself. You can still edit what you download from TSC meaning it knows what shape is where. And I can imagine every update to Livery Designer breaking this...
