Hi guys, just wondering if you think that this release of the south wales coastal route will work with the joining of welsh marches as it has done previously?
No, will need to be redone as the contents folders will be different I mean the work to redo it will be the same but the required folders will need updating
Can someone please ask the person who created the joining of the two routes if they will be doing it again for the people who only have the new release
Danny is the person who did the first and second versions https://steamcommunity.com/id/atomicdanny/myworkshopfiles/?appid=24010&p=1&numperpage=30 You could either just wait or ask him yourself on the Workshop page
Danny was pretty quick off the blocks regarding the BMG unbranded Welsh Marches re-release, so I assume he likes keeping his content up to date, I'd be more surprised if he didn't do it tbh.
Not according to what Jamie said the other day Peter. Sounds to me like you needed both BC & CS to qualify for the unbranded for free. Edit: Disregard my last Peter, it seems I got the wrong end of the stick regarding route merges.
This pretty much - I've changed the South Wales Unbranded Merged route to be completely unbranded (so it only uses Unbranded South Wales Coastal, and Unbranded Welsh Marches, while the branded version only uses the Branded routes (it makes sense to do it like this, rather than have 4 different routes - which is probably a bit daft. (thankfully I hadn't set the route to final, so I could still update the unbranded merge ) Although I hadn't seen this post earlier (I don't usually comment mainly because people have been known to quote it as "DTG said this" ... which can be annoying for me when I only comment from my personal view (so I avoid posting ) (also why I had my name changed from DTG Danny to atomicdanny )
Thanks Danny, I appreciate you taking the time to confirm my assumption. As an aside I noticed BMG are working on a Cotswolds route which will merge nicely into their Welsh Marches when it's done, maybe a mega merge of SWC + WM + NWC & Cotswold line... I'm gonna need a bigger PC..
Sorry to revisit this but I have a question relevant to some of the above IF I were to buy TS2017 which has Bristol - Cardiff within it would I get upgraded to the new South Wales Coastal route as I am unsure what DTG decided to do. The reason I am asking is in regards to the AP 175 which only works with the latest version of the route *at time of writing/posting. Regards Rob aka Artful
Honestly I don't know, but there's plenty of content for the original so surely worth a punt anyway? Let us know the outcome.
I will do "IF" I buy which which I probably will as it also has the TGV route too even though I have that for TSW2 - you can never have enough routes and if we are lucky AP will so some tweaking at their end to allow the Enhancement pack to work with all the Class 175 routes. (Fingers Crossed)
No by what I found in a steam comment "only if" you originally had both the base route *Bristol - Cardiff* AND the Add on extension "Cardiff - Swansea" would you be gifted the New combined route of South Wales Coastal which now combines these 2 sections together.
Ahh yes I remember now.. https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/ts21-coastal-comeback.31533/#post-211825 Though you're incorrect that the Cardiff - Swansea is an extension it's not it's a standalone route which doesn't require the Bristol - Cardiff in order to work.. (Just continue reading from the post I linked above) Not that it makes much difference because it's been removed anyway for the same reason as Brizzle to CockneyTaff land, unless you can find a DLC key for it on the same sites you found the 2017 version that is.
Thanks for Clarifying that. No the original 2016 version isnt available anywhere and I will probably wait until there is a reasonable discount on the new unbranded version of SW Coastal. I appreciate your assistance Reef
In the meantime, Western Mainlines does include Cardiff as one of its many termini. You can also go as far as Exeter and Oxford, and London Paddington. Extensions let you go to Paignton (i,e. Exeter-Paignton), Bicester, and Penzance (including Plymouth on the South Devon, then Penzance from Plymouth on the Cornish). Downside? Doesn't include a train, you have to buy other trains for most of the routes. The Voyager Advanced can at times be found for $20 USD, though. I also found the 153 with Totham for $20. (US prices.) And it's a very long and very well-received route, so these are not a bad idea.. I also notice a Cotswold Line project beginning at Oxford, and going to Worcester, ignoring the path to Droidwich Spa (there is a path there to Birmingham), and taking the turn west towards Hereford, merging into the Welsh Marches route. The rest of the trek from Shrewsbury to Newport is left for that DLC.
Which one is that? This? https://store.steampowered.com/app/208301/Train_Simulator_Great_Western_Main_Line_Route_AddOn/
https://www.justtrains.net/product/western-mainlines-the-extension-collection Western Mainlines - full bundle link There are separate parts as well if £50 in one go give you palpatations
No. Western Mainlines https://www.justtrains.net/product/western-mainlines There are different versions with this first one running from Paddington to Bristol and Cardiff If you want more you can buy the add-on but if you know you will want more it will be cheaper to buy as much as you want https://www.justtrains.net/product/western-mainlines Peter
