But when can we start seeing announcements for releases? Is that all for March or just when we start getting the content?

It's not really a problem since they're right near each other and take up less territory than Cumberland yard. Besides, if the Hudson Line is set before 1992, then New York's Penn Station wouldn't be included anyway since the Empire Connection didn't exist yet. Personally, I would like to see the Hudson Line set in the 1980s because that's when both Metro-North and Amtrak were using New York's Grand Central Terminal and when both of those railroads were using EMD FL9s.

I think they operate the ICE-T on the Rapid Transit route.

im still going strong with the #AnnounceThe387 campaign.

My hopes for March are 1 route (Amtrak most likely) + 387 for GWE.

Probably will be the ICE-T as they use the underground platforms so no need for them to build the above ground station.

I think we are all hoping for atleast, 3/4s of what you said to be true xD. Would be awesome to get a Chinese high speed for TSW (full length and not just 35miles worth).

As much as I'd like more specific answers too, that's just not how DTG does things. All we will get is "soon".

Oh I know, but as things get close I assume the team has dates in mind to both announce and release. Before even announcing RT they were hinting a release timeframe so doesn't hurt to ask

Following the patterns of this page, https://steamdb.info/app/530070/subs/ , you can see that the next dlc is being setup to be sold for different regions, globally and where applicable, via CD Keys.

I'm not 100% familiar with SteamDB, but this makes me think we are looking at Train Sim World 2018 here? Or a new base game that is designed to get new users without the need for buying CSX HH. Probably a broad-base appealing route

Edit: I'm sure some of the DTG team are reading this with enjoyment as we try to predict them...

Wouldn't put it past them lol. Definitely looking like prep for the pre-launch DLC installment, for TSW. No way are those for patch notes or anything but the next installment (DLC). As for the possibility of them releasing it as a stand alone to be purchased without CSX-HH serving as the base game, i doubt it, but who knows. Guess we'll soon find out when we get actual details in the following weeks.

The Class 387 for GWE would be nice however how would this work with the current electrification state on the route within the game as there is a lot of unfinished electrification?

I think the general implication is that with a 387 they would also update GWE to modern times. I know they keep saying the whole "snapshot in time" thing, but I highly doubt that they won't update the route due to the huge changes. After all, the whole "snapshot in time" thing really doesn't work when your snapshot is only accurate for a few months :P Generally these snapshots are accurate for a range of time, not just a few months to a year.

I expect like the GP40 DLC some train that replaces some services we allready have done with the class 166.
I don't think we will see additional traffic.

And by the way the 6-car class 166 services that the developers have forgotten to add on release are still missing a half year after the relaesse.

Shouldn't some of the service in GWE actually be run by a Class 165? I think they handle some of the branchline traffic.

Well they were only used as far as Hayes and Harlington (where the current OHE ends) for the first 6+ months of their service with GWR.

All you have to do is beat the post out... you know by like 23 hours or so and you'll be first!

Is this map positioned with north at the top? Or is it rotated?

no way IMO, mainly because we got the same kind of photos from their Amtrak trip over a year ago....these pics, for the time being mean nothing, again IMO.

Okay if the orientation is correct, I can't match it up with any major Amtrak stations on the NEC...

Edit: Given the cycle though, it's somewhere in the US most likely

Could be the LIRR because the LIRR has a lot of branches and the picture shows that.

I think it is really safe to say it’s American, and quite safe to say Amtrak, but I wouldn’t know enough of Amtrak tracks to connect this tiny bit of track layout to a real thing. Something with a junction and a lot of tracks going around though :P A lot of places are like that.

Well if the lines are a map, then I guess it could be a map of a new route or route extension. If it is a new route, my guess is that it could be the New York to New London section of the Northeast Corridor with the Essex Steam Train branch line due to the lines being in Amtrak blue plus the steam surrounding the lines. The lines look vaguely like the trackwork in New York City, but I don't know for sure.

Said something similar on the Hudson line post and guessed it could potentially be Mott-Haven Jnct, just off 153rd st Yankee Stadium station and after Harlem 125th St bridge. However, those extra tid-bits of track, as well as the curvature of the top right portion curving left instead of right, are throwing us off it seems. Could undoubtedly be wrong.

Well I hope that if it's either the Hudson Line or the Northeast Corridor where New York City is the southwestern-most city on the route, I hope both Grand Central Terminal and Penn Station are featured in it like with New York to New Haven in Train Simulator 2018.

Is it just me or does it look similar to this section of the Long Island Railroad if rotated a bit. I've highlighted the sections which I think it is.

Oh, that looks spot on. It could very well be a portion pertaining to the LIRR. I was solely focused on routes that incorporated Amtrak operations but dang, this image overlay, made my heart drop.

Thanks for taking the time to outline that! It could be a Long Island Railroad route or maybe all of the Train Simulator 2018 New York to New Haven route brought back to Train Sim World but being extended to Fresh Pond Yard in New York City and Cedar Hill Yard in New Haven and North Haven (which would help for accurate Providence & Worcester stone train scenarios).

But then again, the steam that's surrounding the lines might hint a steam locomotive being included in the route. So maybe it could be a Long Island Railroad route set in the steam era (with either a G5 Ten Wheeler or H class Consolidation or both).

Could still include part of the NEC, the line starting in the west going towards the north is the NEC with Penn Station just to the west of the image and Hell Gate Bridge just north, not sure where the line heading south goes to though.

Hold on a second though-if you look at the teaser, you can see that the lines going north (?) and west (?) fade out to black, implying that the lines continue, but simply are not shown yet, while everything in the south (?) ends abruptly, indicating that it won’t be continued...so it can’t be the LIRR, as that’s all the stuff in the south.

Agreed, also if you look at the scale of the image, there isn't enough room for the NEC all the way to New Haven to fit on the image so it must be a commuter route.

That image might be zoomed in only on Queens in New York City and be just a small representation of a larger route. A couple of the lines fade to black. That yard at the south end of the map (assuming it's a map of New York City's trackwork) is Fresh Pond Yard, where Providence & Worcester stone trains go to from Cedar Hill Yard in New Haven and vice versa.
