    Wowsers.
This route looks absolutely stunning. I’ll definitely be buying it on 17 December.

    Can’t wait.

    Is it the 17th yet?

Hope the switch from 1,5 kV DC (from Marseille to the tunnel) to 25 kV 50 Hz AC (on the high speed line itself) is present and the two types of catenary also are.[IMG]
    25 kV catenary*
    [IMG]
1,5 kV catenary (looks gorgeous, doesn't it?)
Upper track (1,5 to 25 kV): warning sign of an incoming change of tension / execution sign (open circuit braker, lower the 1,5 kV pantograph) / end of changing zone (rise 25 kV pantograph, close CB) - have a nice ride on the high speed line!
Lower track: same process, but you change from 25 kV to 1,5 kV. Welcome back to the old classic line!

*on 25 kV french catenary system you have "sectioning areas" (needed for technical safety reasons), where the driver has to open the CB, ride on inertia while the zone lasts (few dozens of meters), and close the CB when the zone ends and continue journey as usual.
    Signs: SECt à 500m (warning: sectioning at 500 m) / jaded smiley ( = | ) : execution sign (open CB) / "U" sign: U can close the CB
BUT on LGVs (High Speed Lines) this process is automatic.

Everything is well explained in the FAQ on the line in TS, posted earlier here by federicodiliberto2001.

I really hope this feature that is typical of the french railways will be present, otherwise it would be quite disappointing, and for the moment it seems that the catenary is not the good one (look at the track on the left - it looks more like a 25 kV than a 1,5 kV, while IRL at this location, on that track, there is a 1,5 kV catenary - screen from maps provided)

Dovetails new products always look good until you play them, particularly on console where there are almost always bugs, low res textures and dodgy rendering.

Looks pretty good, but too bad that the ballast which is one of the most important details is completely wrong colour. Really breaks the authentic feel and keeps me from buying the route.

FAC29FA2-17A5-49CF-918F-FDE842892A16.jpeg This looks really good, this stretch of track alone looks very fun to drive. Always glad to see DTG step out of their comfort zone and try something new. Also this will be the first route to release for PS5 and Series X, which being able to run this at 60 frames is exciting! Can’t wait!

Yes but you won't be able to play the route because of the "bugs, low res textures and dodgy rendering." which apparently affect every route and that is why hundreds of people are complaining on here about it and boycotting DTG's products, organising protests outside their premises and organising smear campaigns against "fanbois"!

The stations and built up areas look really nice, however as I suspected, the outer, mountainous areas look pretty plain. Instead of it looking rocky, dry and mountainous, it’s been replaced with a scattering of trees and green vegetation.

...I have to defend DTG from excessive criticism. The train models are super detailed, the landscapes look convincing and the driving experience for railroad fans sets in immediately. TSW 2 is one of the best train simulators out there and of course there aren't that many. I understand criticism and also found some bugs by myself, but year for year the game is evolving and gets better, which is also due to all the constructive feedback.

By the way the screenshots look really nice and I'm looking forward to drive a TGV Duplex (and maybe create some new liveries). ;)

It’s insane how people can provide DTG with the correct information of an incorrect item in the game and still be considered excessive criticism.

It is a case of being balanced. Okay the Catenary might be wrong, frankly it wouldn't be something I would spot and I would wager most people wouldn't, but does that make the route so awful, does it negate the lovely modelling of the train and the stations and the infrastructure in general.

Is the incorrect catenary the only point you can take from the screenshots?

There is constructive criticism and there is pure "oh it's DTG so I will find nothing good to say"!

Catenary and Ballast, plus the scenery. All incorrect. I wouldn’t say the first two are big enough to prevent someone to avoid getting the route, but the scenery needs to be accurate. Just because someone mentioned an inaccuracy doesn’t mean they are just looking for something to go against DTG with, they might be from the area and notice that it’s wrong.

So much for being built as reastically as possible. SMH. I don't get why some people say then get the environments right when they don't in some routes

[Insert Sad Face] Damn, that’s wack. The Rolling Stock looks interesting, but the route has only 3 stations for over 100km of track. Seems like it’ll get boring just staring at track for 30+ mins not doing anything.

If there was an extension, I’d have more of a chance of getting it.

Some people like just sitting there staring at track like that, and I respect that, but I can’t do that, I like having to always slow down and make stops like an S-Bahn route or LIRR/BKL.

*Cough, Cough* NO ONE SAYS THAT *Cough, Cough* /s

But let’s be honest, there’s only a handful of routes that have unrealistic scenery. I think East Coastway, Bakerloo (partially) & GWR does reasonably well with it.

I mean the fact that dtg can be shown the correct informantion of how a route and it's surrounds are in real life yet are not bothered to make it as close to being realistic as possible says a lot about them. They say that there routes are made close to real life as possible but a lot of the time that is not the case

I wonder if the system they used for the auto-scenery actually put down the Catenary and they deemed it too frustrating/tedious to go back and change.

I would agree though, the routes are close (75%) to real life. Theres bound to be some small inaccuracies on each route, but some of them are extremely noticeable like scenery being wrong.

Are you talking about safety systems?

If so, then add pressing a button to my original post.

Same thing though, I respect the people who like High Speed trains.

I'm talking about the lack of stations and lack of "start and stop" services, unlike Japan (where HS trains are also used to connect the smaller communities to the big cities) in Europe usually HS trains only connect the big cities togheter, resulting in long journeys with very few stops in between, Marseille-Avignon is a reasonably short distance already compared to other HS Lines...

I ain't here to start a war, but DTG has said multiple times in the past that their routes are not meant to be a 100% perfect replications, only 99.99999999% representations, so stuff like the overhead wiring or anything like that isn't incorrect because it was never meant to be correct, it is how DTG wanted it from the start.

I like high speed content. I got a lot of high speed routes in ts2021 (railworks). The problem with the latest high speed stuff dtg are making for tsw2 is that it's simply too short for the speeds. This may be one of the longest routes in the game but it can be done in 27-30 minutes in total because your doing speeds of 200mph. The speeds are too short for the mileage so I hope for future high speed routes, we either get the FULL ROUTE instead of one part of it, or we get a high speed route that's more than 80 to 90 plus miles long then get a extension for said 80-90 mile in the future. We can't continue to get high speed routes that can be done in 30 minutes and with the new tech that they have to auto generate scenery to speed up the production of routes, (even if it may cause incorrect scenery and caternary) this could be achievable to do.
