i think so. No one GPU AMD driver wich I tried can't stop crashes. It's not GPU driver problem. I supose it's something wrong with UE4 current version

Sounds like your problems were far worse than mine. I've saved the link for future use.

TSW2 mostly unplayable since the day of Preserved Collection 5, due to crash 5-10 minutes into a service (scenarios seem a little better but still crash occasionally). Crash is the familiar TS2Prototype_Win64_Shipping. Ryzen-7 / nVidia 1060 Super; system up to date and yes I have tried previous GPU drivers but the problem persists in some form with all of them. To me, it is significant that TSW2020 runs fine and I have been playing it instead. I do have a ticket submitted and DTG has been responsive which I appreciate.

Today I made a little pc upgrade. Ryzen 5 1600 to Ryzen 5 2600. And what?
No more crashes with Ryzen 5 2nd gen.
No doubt that reason of crashes was Ryzen 5 1 gen. Not GPU.
Now with Ryzen 5 2600 and Radeon RX560 (20.11.2 driver ver.) no any unreal engine crashes.

I've placed a support ticket (for crash with UE error message) 1-5 minutes into a service. They have been very responsive and have passed the issue to the Devs. Waiting patiently as I can, and playing TSW 2020 which runs great, as well as my large collection in TS 2021 (we all know how that runs but hey). And I remember with fondness the 300 + hours of TSW2 I was able to play before the Preserved Collection 5 update. Hopefully a fix soon!

I do have the Ryzen 7 (1st gen) - so maybe we're on to something

I have the Ryzen 7 (1st gen) ... so perhaps the Unreal Engine version in TSW 2 Preserved Collection 5 - has become incompatible with those older CPUs.

I've just done a 45 min session on the Sand Patch Grade tutorial. System crashed to UE4 Crash Reporter screen 7 times. That makes an average of one crash every 6 min.

I wasn't able to do a single run in TSW2 so far. First I thought that it's my old RX 470 problem, but after switching to 5600 XT, the problem persist. :( UE is crashing with:

Having been bragging on here that I have not had a unreal Engine crash for 2 weeks, last night I had 2 on the West Somerset, (Reports Sent) failed to complete 2 services. at least the blue screen of death seems to have stopped.

I've just updated my nVidia graphics driver to v460.79 dated 09.12.20. TSW2 still crashes. I hope DTG can fix this soon as I'm otherwise really impressed with the SPG route. The attention to detail of the way the loco(s) systems are configured and perform is quite incredible. I'm longing to have an uninterrupted run up to the summit, but because my system keeps crashing, then in order to make progress I have to rely on saving and resuming games. This usually means I eventually end up at a red signal somewhere which never changes and which I cannot pass. It's so annoying.

Agreed that many "run fine," that's great for them - until whatever the problem is, starts to affect them. I also have tried everything, down to the .ini files. I know that there is a line that would resolve it but just knowing what that is and where to put it. I have provided my crash dump files to DTG at their request, so they are looking at it; I check on my ticket daily and meanwhile play TSW 2020 which is totally stable.

What CPU and GPU you have? It seems that there could be a problem with the 1st gen Ryzens.

It does seem to be 1st Gen Ryzen CPU’s that are likely to be the problem, not GPU drivers as first thought.

This Is My Latest Attachment To My DTG Ticket .... I Hope That They Consider It .... !!!

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------

Thank You For All Your Help So Far .....

After Much Exploring, I Am Finding That The "Chipset-Drivers" Are Causing The CTD ..... !!

There Are Many Available For My MB ...

    "ASUS-ROG-Crosshair-VI-Hero-X370" With AM4 Socket ... !!

    I Am Using a "1st" Generation "AMD-Ryzen-5-1600X" ... 3.6 - 4.0GHz Turbo ... 12 CPU's ...!

It Was All Running Fine ... Before The Last "Core-Update" .... !!!

Could You Recommend Therefore, Which Variation of Software I Need, To Compliment Your Update ... ??

    With Kindest Regards,

What makes you think it's the chipset drivers causing the problem? I've recently installed the latest chipset driver for my Asus Prime X370 Pro motherboard, but it made no difference. Let us know if DTG responds.

Hello Jonsutt1 ..... I Have Numerous Graphic Cards .... They Make No Difference To The Crashes .....

I Have an Intel i5 Machine That Has "No" Crashes .....

So I Investigated My Ryzen 5 1600X Chipset Drivers ..... ASUS ROG Gave Quite a Number of Old Versions ....

I Have Rolled Back To One That Suits My Old Board ...... No Crashes ..... !!!

Not sure what to really say other than this seems to be a very strange issue that is only affecting some users.

Upgraded to a Ryzen 3700X setup last weekend from 1700X, works fine now. Definitely seems to be a First Gen Ryzen issue.

Now if only I could get my hands on a RTX 3070 to complete it!

Grats. Thats not our problem though, its DTG. Not buying a cpu just to get something working that the developer broke

DTG appears to have solved it!!
This afternoon I installed the lasted nVidia graphics driver released today. When I launched TSW2 to test it, Steam automatically did what turned out to be a fairly major update (I reckon in the order of a 1GB download). I've just achieved a 45 min run on the Bakerloo Line without any crashes! Previously, it would crash every 6-7 min on average. Never had it so good!
    Thank you DTG!

So I'm on the fence of upgrading too but it would really be a shame because I have no problem with my 1st gen Ryzen anywhere else. Some update dropped today, let's see if this issue is any better now.

It was all going so well...
Today I've tried to run Sand Patch Grade. As soon as I loaded training module SD40-2 Introduction, it crashed to UE4 Crash Reporter window! I restarted TSW2 and loaded the same training module. It immediately crashed again. I restarted TSW2 a third time and loaded the Fully Fuelled scenario. Again, as soon as it loaded, it crashed.
DTG has certainly changed something in yesterday's update. Yesterday I ran Bakerloo Line for 45 mins with no crashes. Today SPG has crashed immediately each time. So maybe the crashing is now more consistent and perhaps predictable? Might be easier to investigate?

I had my very first crash to UE4 Crash Reporter last night, after the Mastery patch. I sequentially played four Bakerloo journeys for the first time (to quickly unlock the Winter mastery). On the fifth journey, the game crashed after departing the second to last station.

Unfortunately, it was the first time I played Bakerloo Line, and I also had installed the latest Nvidia driver in the meantime, so I can't say whether it was the update, the route, the graphics driver, or something else, that led to the crash.

I think I've solved it. I verified the Steam files and found a corrupt file. It's now been downloaded again and verifies ok. I've loaded SPG and it now runs without crashing (at least not in the 15 min I've so far run it), so fingers crossed...

Just spent 2 hrs running SandPatch Grade's Fully Fuelled scenario. Drove from Cumberland Yard to the summit with no crashes. So far I'm very happy with Bakerloo Line and SPG. Will test some other routes tomorrow.

a cautious welcome to today's patch. My first run (one of the training scenarios) got to the end instead of crashing within a couple of minutes.
I can look forward to more testing over the next few days. sighs!

I can confirm that the last upgrade certainly fixed things! No crash so far. Will play a longer session on the weekend but this is already a huge improvement!

Its good to hear it's working for some of you
Again please keep in mind this has not to do with nvidia gpus and drivers
    Amd cpus are the culprit

Until DTG releases some sort of statement, rather than a possible fluke I'll keep it uninstalled

For in the recent patch notes theres nothing regarding it
