Why would ever we do such evil acts to know what the future holds ? *goes back to planning*

I guess we must be on the right track if this round of hints is much shorter...

OK, now that the easy part (LOL), of figuring out what the new route will possibly be, we can now begin the speculation on the trains/locos that we might be seeing! Yeah, I know it's premature, but that's half the fun.

ACS-64, forsure. Acela maybe? If not, it'll come Later as a DLC.

I assume an ACS-64 and a CSX train, Acela might be bundled or offered as a DLC. I'd hope at the same time but who knows.

Most likely the Amtrak ACS-64 and the Metro-North M8 since they're the most common on New York to New Haven these days.

So now the next thing is to speculate release dates. I say March 8th or 15th for this route, but I'm thinking the 8th.

Updated my map, definitely the NEC probably just to New Rochelle. New teaser adds section between Bronx and New Rochelle.

Hopefully very soon, probably will be the 8th considering that Rapid Transit was released soon after announcement.

So I’m sure a few of you have seen it. But here’s more of the map. Now being that the routes they’ve previous released have been short. I can bet you the newly revealed area that this route will not go beyond New Rochelle. And Penn station according the scale of this map is nearly at the center. Another 10-12 miles form that point which I doubt will extend beyond the scale of the photo, might be Newark airport. Which is a little less than the distance from Penn station to New Rochelle.

Yeah. This route choice and scale is umm... #idunno.. DTG #isprettycool. F4D5B9C2-346D-48CC-8C21-8A2FADE65BC0.jpeg

It's about 16 miles to Grand Central and 16 miles to Penn from New Rochelle. Maybe they add in both. My question then becomes focused on freight operations. There isn't much freight at New Rochelle.

I think you are probably right. If the route only goes to New Rochelle, they would probably add in both routes to Penn station and Grand Central Terminal. Will be interesting to see what they do with freight operations especially on that southernmost branch route.

32 miles if they add both routes in, just a bit shorter than GWE, then there is the southern branch which will add a further few miles and maybe a few more branches.

There has to be something on the left side of the map. Possibly to Newark.

Also, the Acela doesn't stop at New Rochelle, so kinda throws that out of the mix if that's the case too

Probably worth waiting for the reveal tomorrow before speculation turns in a pitchfork and burning torch brigade.

I agree, there probably will be some sort of extension to the west, maybe Newark.

If they have a western extension to Newark, they could include the Acela stopping at Newark and Penn station and having a red signal at New Rochelle to serve as an end-point. I'm sure that all those services on CSX Heavy Haul that end at Rockwood don't actually stop there.

Aww but that's what I came for.....

Only thing I wonder is that stations like Penn and Newark are quite complex, I don't know if they would include Newark. Would be nice though. That would be 2 complex stations.

Newark to New Rochelle wouldn't make sense since New York's Penn Station (in the middle of the route) is a crew change point for all trains. Amtrak crews don't go on the entirety of the Northeast Corridor on one run from Washington to Boston or vice versa.

Still gonna hold onto my dreams for the MNRR Hudson line by linking this (until they come true or get put aside, with tomorrow's full map reveal). Edited it based on what NEC_FanRailer mentioned a page back, including the new teaser portion of the map. I'm not the best editor so don't hate and mind the sloppiness! *Credit for the original map goes to NorthRail1*:[IMG]
Trackage between a little bit before Morris Heights and a bit after University Heights, along the MNRR Hudson line seem to also fit the bill, for the second teaser image. We'll find out whats up tomorrow though!

Yeah nothing actually stops at Rockwood, but Heavy Haul is still 60 miles long, and it takes 2 hours to get there, so from a softcore player perspective, even Rockwood might seem too far to go.

We have not seen a passenger route though that has ends where content included does not stop at, so I think for passenger services it might be handled differently

Probably not, would only stop there if it had to wait for a clear path ahead.

New York to New Haven is 75 miles, New York to Philadelphia is 90 miles.

Yeah that’s true. This isn’t like a 60 mile 2 hour drive, so maybe it could be handled differently here. And that is assuming New Rochelle is the end. There is a lot of the map we have yet to see...which is why I’m surprised that tomorrow will be the full map reveal...so there is probably something totally different going on here.

I agree it doesn’t make sense. However, it doesn’t mean that it’s not going to be made as such. As I say again.. The size of the photo indicates that whatever it is on it is all we’re going to get. Probably why the map itself is tilted to begin with.

I’m trying to tell ya. This is going to probably be one of the oddest offerings they’ve ever done. I’m sure the look of the route will be exciting. But that’s about as far as it goes.

You’ll see tomorrow. I personally can’t wait to see the feedback once they reveal the entirety of what they actually did.

    keyword: New York.

please withhold pitchforks until we know the details - they may make up for the route length with locos and the entire other half of the map we havent seen. :)

*Lays pitchfork down* Good point. Kidding about the pitchfork, btw lool. We'll see of course, tomorrow. Still going to be cool, honestly, now that its been made for TSW and having the ability to move around this region on foot. #StillHype #NoShortageOfRoutePleaseDTG

Odd that they published that with a name and all...but it basically confirms overall speculation. As questioned above...we just now have to figure out what of New York it is.

for all we know, it could be a NEC with metro side dish to make up for lack of length.....*there is a penis joke somewhere to someone*

I think it's gonna be Penn to New Rochelle. Given it's TSW NEC New York, those are the only two major stations in New York. I would think if it was anything further, I would assume it would have a more telling name. Hoping I'm wrong given how limited that actually is, but we shall see soon

Well there we have it. It's been confirmed that it is the Northeast Corridor! And has New York City too! The Northeast Corridor doesn't serve much of New York state, only three New York City boroughs and Westchester County. But based on what happened with Great Western Express, not every train included in it was literally a Great Western express. So this could mean the route goes to Connecticut, hope so, at least to Stamford so at least the Metro-North locals from Grand Central to Stamford can be featured as complete runs.

Was thinking this. Hopefully Stamford is included, it adds a good mix to the game, and if they throw in Grand Central, it would be a great route for TSW

Considering they've pushed a named build to Steam I'm thinking pre-orders for this will become available tomorrow alongside the full route reveal.
