You might think I’m crazy but I think this route might come out tomorrow. It’s a bit strange that DTG aren’t running the hints until Friday and then revealing the route then. Instead it’s a Thursday. Thursday is the day that DTG loves to release new and hyped DLC. Also with all the backlash about the pre-orders I wouldn’t be surprised if they dropped this route tomorrow available immediately.
well I know Matt is currently at work playtesting/enjoying the scenarios...take from that what you want. Train Sim discord, including our own/DTGs own Matt: https://discord.gg/ZB4mkWk
Well nothing has been officially announced so it may not be what we think it is. Also on DB it says NEC NY which seems a bit fishy because their is not much in NY for the NEC so I’m thinking it could still be the LIRR because the LIRR is in NY and on the NEC. When Zui combined the sneak peak to the NYNH map I saw Woodside station more towards the beginning of the pic and it seems to continue on pretty far so we could see some of the Amtrak NEC and maybe a smaller LIRR Branch, DTG could be killing two birds with one stone. A decent sized branch like the Long Beach Branch is only 26 miles so if they go to Stamford that equals in between 50-60 miles.
Jay said that the month of March seems pretty busy so I’m guessing that will be the month of the DLC release.
I have a sneaking suspicion that the Xbox version is going to be realeaed in March along with a GWE loco in March. Not that I care anyway because I own a PC that runs TSW just fine.
And it’s defintely not coming out tomorrow. Don’t jump the gun here. They have to announce it officially first. Give an article about the information and history around it. Then it takes about a week at least or two before they get around to releasing it.
Yes I am sure that is LIRR, I see Penn Station past Sunnyside Yard to Jamaica Station, and further from there, so has to be LIRR.
Well we have been discussing that for a bit. It hasn’t been announced yet so we don’t know what’s coming. I find it weird that it says NY in the title so it could be Amtrak and LIRR killing two birds with one stone bc both routes are on high demand.
♂️♂️ .. you guys are killing yourselves with anticipation. I give up. Enough of the clues and info are there to give you a very clear idea of what is there to expect. And still you folks trying to squeeze water from a rock. I’m telling you.. you guys are going to be disappointed tomorrow. I’m going to say I told you so.
I come back from a week long hiatus on a cruise and this is what I come back to?? Y'all didn't wait for me?! It's super exciting coming back to all this information! I love all the involvement in the thread here from everyone. Regardless of what comes of the announcement tomorrow, I'm proud to be a part of the community here. Any new updates/releases for this game get me excited as I'm a huge fan of the software and the team behind it and I want nothing but success for this franchise.
I'm just sitting here pondering the amazement that a thread wondering what happened to the game turned into an all out hunt to figure out the new DLC, analyzing everything... Go internet! I'll stick by my prediction that this will release in 2 to 3 weeks with preorders starting tomorrow. Although there is an incredibly high chance that this content does exist in TS already, I still anticipate DTG doing their normal hype
It is always fun to see all the community involvement. Just a quick recap of what we know so far is that it is New York Based with the Northeast Corridor included. It will include CSX Oak Point Yard and possibly Fresh Pond Junction based off the maps that have been released. DTG have also recorded sounds off of an ACS64, an Acela, Amfleet Coach, Dash 8, and P42 along with some CSX locos for the original release of CSX Heavy Haul.
That’s a reasonable expectation. Someone in this thread threw out a bogus prediction that the route would release tomorrow. Lol. Like how.. the route isn’t even announced yet.
Yeah it doesn't make much sense that the route would even come out within the next week or two. I much rather have DTG take their time on a product and put something out which is overall more enjoyable for the consumer than rush it and get the backlash for a uncompleted project.
And from personal experience that can be very challenging. Today was the first day a piece of software I developed for an organization was used in full replacement of older software. Even after a year and a half of development I still consider the software incomplete. I feel TSW is relatable, it will never be 100% done. Always improvements and fixes to be made. At some point though you have to call it and release it into the wild. Now back to speculation.... Given it's almost guaranteed that we will see Amfleets, my question is will they be of the old interior or new interior. This thought came to me after seeing the new seats at 30th Street earlier today...
I honestly didn’t think it would release tomorrow. But at this point people are throwing out random theories. There are still people on Facebook saying it’s a UK route or something with a steam loco.
I have nothing against a release tomorrow, I'd quite enjoy it actually. Given it wasn't rushed that is
So NEC DLC - electric loco as a new feature in TSW. Good! Next DLC - Steam traction ??? To complete all classic vehicle types
I hope that at least Queens gets properly modeled, with the inclusion of the subway tracks at sunnyside and the Q line just before the hellgate bridge, which weren't done in the previous version. And I also expect a breathtaking NY skyline from the bridge itself
Round One: American Diesel Freight British Diesel Passenger German Electric Passenger Round 2: American Electric Passenger British Electric Freight German Diesel Freight Also, we really need an emoticon for :P It's difficult to convey how not serious I'm being with a wink.
Well now that the next DLC has been mostly covered anyone care to guess what updates (and regressions?) will take place to the TSW core? Will that long standing throttle issue finally be fixed? Perhaps the GWE non existent flashing yellow signal might finally appear? Better still might GWE 166s stop being needlessly diverted onto the down main after Twyford, slowing down 166s and often bringing HSTs to a stop, and then back to the down relief just before Reading? Is there any chance that mythical beast known as the Passenger Information System might make an appearance sometime this year in GWE, RT and the new DLC?
Somehow I doubt it but I could be wrong. They'd want to get the flashing yellows working before the release of the next British route as they're pretty essential in the British signalling system in my opinion. I'm doubtful the pathing issues with the Class 166 and the Class 66 have been fixed but I live in hope. Jay seems to be indicating that GWE is getting something that will add to the services at any rate. Possibly, I think we'll see some form of a scenario editor first.
Whilst a new route is always welcome (although I may have to review the size of my Steam Hard drive..), I am somewhat disappointed* that there is nothing on extra rolling stock for the Rapid Transit Route. The German enthusiasts got a lot less in their release than the US or UK did and it does not appear to be value for money at the current time... * English phrase for £$%^& annoyed...
Just becuase this isn't content for RT, doesn't mean that content isn't coming further down the line - Jay
The new area depicted is between Newark Penn Station (far left) and Portal Bridge (far right). The line at Newark Penn is not showing signs of stopping, so the route continues west. Attached is the area in Google Earth.
The large area of track is a yard that leads to Hoboken. So it looks like Newark Penn is included, with the chance the line also goes to Hoboken.
Oh man, I'm so excited and ready. Not only by the new DLC but also about other things like rolling stock (I guess?) for RT and GWE. This one's gunna be a great month coming. PayPal account charged hell ye now take ma money :P
