The Siemens Charger SC-44, commonly known as the Siemens Charger, is a new high-speed diesel-electric locomotive, the first of its type. They were built by Siemens Mobility in Pueblo, Colorado, and can travel up to 125 miles per hour (201.168 km/h). Amtrak and MARC are currently the only customers to have Charger SC-44's. MARC Locomotives are in the testing phase, and Amtrak locomotives are in service on the Midwest lines, Caltrans (Amtrak California), and Amtrak Cascades service. A locomotive similar to the SC-44, the Charger SC-B40, is a streamlined version of the SC-44 designed exclusively for the brand-new higher-speed rail service in southern Florida, Brightline. While the SC-44 produces 4,400 horsepower, the SC-B40 produces 4,000 horsepower. In conclusion, the Charger SC-44 is the definition of modern technology, and would make a great addition to Train Simulator.
Siemens Charger would be awesome, no matter if it's for TS or TSW, I think! BVERailer Is that an American version of the BR Class 52 'Western' painted in New Haven livery, with the headcodes on the top left & right of the lights, and American lights on the bottom on your profile pic? Thanks!
Not really, it is a completely different locomotive. The shape of the body looks a little similar, but other than that, completely different
I'd like to see an Amtrak version. Amtrak is also purchasing SC-44s for long distance services to replace the Genesis diesels.
