Nice shots Blacknred. Cool to see a 70MACE second out in the second shot.

Great photos! I've been dying to get out trackside again. I haven't been out railfanning since January. I'm hoping to go out again before the year is over.

I believe I posted these in another thread some time ago, but here's some pictures from my time chasing GCRY #29 back in July of 2019. It was my first ever train chase and it was a lot of fun! I

Yeah it was a nice change of pace, as 95% of the BNSF locos out here are either Dash 9's, Evos, or the uncommon ACe.

So, Union Pacific derailed a train nearby where I live yesterday morning, luckily no one was injured, and only one car was leaking hydrochloric acid, but it was quickly contained...
    https://kmph.com/news/local/train-derails-near-goshen-monday-morning

Not sure exactly how this happened, but it looked like it derailed entering the siding. Photos curtesy of news sources and local fire departments.

Good for CSX, but that kind of stinks from an enthusiast's perspective. Pan Am has some unique operations and power. Hate to see another unique regional go. But man, I bet NS is really not happy! They've got some serious competition up in that region now.

I was going through the pictures I have saved on my computer this morning and I found these pictures that I took of some BNSF trains we passed during my trip to Arizona last summer. I'm not sure what the exact locations are since I took these as we passed them on I-40, but I would guess they were taken somewhere between Barstow and Needles, CA.

I got to say that coal turbine is cursed.
So sad to see that street running line going.

In other news, (I can't find the article) NS announced it will be cutting traffic to 5 northeast destinations from its 63rd Street Yard in Chicago.

Coal turbine looks like they threw a PA on there, some behemoth generator thing, and a pedestal tender at the back. Wouldn't it just be an even more inefficient steam locomotive?

Because it actually was. The A unit was a modified Alco PA. The B unit is actually an ex Great Northern W1 locomotive with a modified turbine prime mover stuck in it.

Huh, now I see it. At most what can be identified is the running gear.

Wow, I read once that UP stood for "Unlimited Power." This beast certainly backs that description up.

A pair of SJVR locos working near downtown Fresno.

Also when you compare it to this, you realize that the Cityscape hasn't changed much in Fresno over the years....

So apparently Japan had streamlined one of their C53 locomotives. C53-43. Honestly something i never knew about.

This past weekend I was finally able to go railfanning for the first time since early last year! Having been itching to go for over a year now, I finally convinced my dad to drive me up to Cajon Pass to see some freight action. We weren't at all familiar with the area so the locations we went to were limited, but I still got plenty of action on both the mainline and in the intermodal yard in San Bernardino. I didn't realize at the time, but I even caught a BNSF 25th anniversary commemorative unit!

Nice catches, Buynot! Cajon Pass is a bucket list route to see. That is also great that you caught a 25th Anniversary unit, BNSF did a classy job on those. Scaletrains.com just recently announced HO models of them in their Rivet Counter line, something I hope to get one day.
