Have moved across today from PS4 to PS5 but haven’t played TSW2 on it yet as I am still transferring games. One thing though the PS5 allows for the first time is to see how many hours you have put in for each game. so for:- TSW 1238 hours TSW2 334 hours I do have a life, I really do! Don’t let the numbers fool you ;-)
Geez, man! That's some SERIOUS dedication! And I thought my 460 hours in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain was impressive... Just out of curiosity, how did you discover your total play time? I'd love to know how much time I've put into both TSW2020 and TSW2. Edit: Well, apparently I can't read 'cause you've already answered that question. LOL! Major facepalm.
Speaking on behalf of the xbox community, TSW2 runs sublimely on there, previously 20fps MAX on Sand Patch Grade, now all routes are locked at 60fps
On xbox TSW 2020 ( including founders edition) Ive spent 51.780 minutes ( unsure in hours) TSW 2 319 hours so far. Xbox one S and series S
Its like a different game to be honest. Instantly there is so much more detail to see which I assume just gets compressed on the base PS4. This is the first time I have been able to play in 4K and it's on my 55" OLED. You can see from my hours I have played a heck of a lot so I saw the difference the moment I went into the first route. I keep being late as I am hopping out to look at things I hadn't noticed before. All this on the base PS4 game. If DTG do ever do an enhanced next gen console version it would be mind blowing I'm sure. Fingers crossed!!
Yeah I had a feeling it always recorded them as Playstation did a thing a while back where it sent you a video showing your most played games. The list was interesting to be honest but confirmed what I knew. Battlefield V was right up there about 800hrs in time played for me as was Friday 13th which was around 830hrs!!
I’m really looking forward to seeing what DTG can do with PS5. Seeing on YT etc how the game is improved with no specific enhancements is really exciting.
TinTin, I absolutely share your enthusiasm -- and sequestered at home because of the pandemic, I've been able to spend a lot of time driving trains just like you have. On a PC my hours are tracked by Steam and the 538 hours in TSW2 that Steam shows right now is a substantial exaggeration since apparently Steam includes the time when TSW2 is on Pause. I get interrupted by work at home frequently and simply pause the game (have to earn a living, you know). But I have 390 Gold Medals which means nothing with regard to time, but at least tells me that I've made almost 400 trips. For what it's worth, there is something in this simulation / game for everyone. In some ways it's an engineer's playground, requiring precision in operation, strict adherence to timetables, utilization of safety systems which while not overly complex are not intuitively obvious in operation and a satisfying level of complexity. Visually It's stunning, you can walk the tracks and explore all sorts of wonderful detail you might never see from the cab. And . . . something recent in this Forum and very, very useful -- the Awesome TSW" Service Mode Runs thread which is made even more valuable by Leadcatcher's compilation of these fun and often challenging runs are brilliant and serve to highlight some real gems that might otherwise be overlooked!
I’m definitely interested to see how many hours I’ve played since March/April when I discovered the game. I’m fast approaching 7,000 miles in TSW 2 so it must be a fair few by now.
I have no idea how many hours I have spent in the TSW world. I only know what levels I’m up to. That’s currently level 650 in TSW2020 and 140 in TSW2. Nearly 16 months of daily use. Except the last few days when I’ve been too busy/tired to play. Playing as much in TSW2020 as TSW2 at the moment.
I have an excuse to have higher numbers than you, I usually leave TSW to run on the background or maybe I want to take a break an istead of taking a gamble of the save/reload system working I might just leave in the background, yes, that's surely the reason, I have a life as well believe me
Have no idea about the hours (not visible on PS4 unfortunately ) I clocked off TSW1 at level 453 or so and in TSW2 I'm somewhere between 205 and 210 I believe
There really isn't any good measure of time spent in this game is there? We pause while attending to other things, that inflates the hours; level is heavily biased to passenger activity so someone who spends most of her time operating freight has a lower level than someone who does mostly passenger traffic. But -- relative to TSW1, it's probably a reasonable indicia. In several years with TSW1 my level finally hit 100 just before 'TSW2 was released. At the end of four months since TSW2 was released, my level in TSW2 is 279 today. TSW2 is a much better game, for me anyway.
In other games, I would agree with you, but not with TSW. I almost never pause this game, and when I do I continue as quickly as possible. Because when I pause TSW my PS4 fan goes absolutely bonkers
I'm actually kinda curious to know how many hours I've spent in TSW / TSW2. If any of you PS5 players would like to add me: my PSN profile is: GTP_OnlyMe. Please add me and let me know. I'd be much obliged.
